It will be good to see Flex - they all look like alot of fun.

All three are scheduled for release on Oct 28, 2003.

Amazon already lists Spike's version:

I agree -- these look great ...

one month passes...
And now these are out and ...

Spike and Michel's are jampacked (not all their videos but many many) with great stuff .. videos and more.

Unfortunately, Chris' seems slight in comparison. 8 videos only, some snippets of other work and that is it basically.

still buy the lot for under $35 on amazon - not bad at all. and definitely worth re-playing...

The only one I'm really interested in is the Chris Cunningham one.

Nicolars (Nicole), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:02 (twenty-two years ago)

i'd take Gondry's way over the other two, classic as they all are tho

stevem (blueski), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Gondry's is surely one of the DVD releases of the year, in my opinion.

Eric H. (Eric H.), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm with Nicolars. I may have seen everything on the other two several thousand times, which does not detract from their value, but it's nothing I would put money down for.

The Amazon review says that Cunningham is doing something for Warp, too.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:23 (twenty-two years ago)

what ever happened to Cunningham's Neuromancer film? Is it shelved permanently or does he still have an option on it?

anthony kyle monday (akmonday), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:48 (twenty-two years ago)

gondry volume is super dupes.

liked the jonze volume too. especially the documentary with Fatlip of the Pharcyde.

(Jon L), Friday, 7 November 2003 19:30 (twenty-two years ago)

that fatlip documentary is great!

cunningham's is the only one i haven't seen yet, and i'm guessing it will be the best, as i'm pretty sure he's only done 8 really popular videos, which should make his the most complete volume, whereas with jonze, quite a few favorites have been left out (freedom of 76, crush with eyeliner) and same with gondry's (music sounds better with you, knives out).

billstevejim, Friday, 7 November 2003 20:34 (twenty-two years ago)

two weeks pass...
i really wanted the sean lennon video for "home" and the "it's all about the benjamin's (rock remix)" video to be on the spike comp.

and i'm also disappointed that stardust's "music sounds better than you" video isn't on gondry's comp.

i wonder what the reasoning is for these omissions.

Yea, the Spike Jonze one is ace, but the Fatlip docu. is by far the best thing on it. Aye lurved it.

Francis Watlington (Francis Watlington), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 20:20 (twenty-two years ago)

just went to go see some digital arts festival thing with spike jonze rarities (a mike watt video - "big train", horrible song and video; a flaming lips video with reagan getting shot frame by frame - crap song, interesting video; documentary about the torrance community dance group getting ready to perform the 'praise you' dance at the mtv video awards - interminable; and christopher walken doing commentary over the "weapon of choice" video - uninteresting).

mitch lastnamewithheld (mitchlnw), Wednesday, 26 November 2003 21:13 (twenty-two years ago)

six months pass...
That Fatlip docu is indeed a thing of wonder. The part where he's talking in his clown suit about how he's soon gonna have to work at Burger King made me wanna go out and buy several copies of his (non-existent) album...

four years pass...
