So, here is the deal: try to write down a list (with as many entries as you wish but please, focus on albums, not on singles...) with the best tunes for the sophistos (you know what I mean, music for the obscurantist collectors...) and... ehm, you'll have my perpetual gratitude!

Please list stuff that is known (and appreciated) only by the enlighted ones. Oh, It has to be GOOD too. I mean, not the kind of stuff you keep with the sole purpose of impressing your mates, you have to like it!!!!

I'm afraid I don't understand the question.

I thought when you said "Music for sophistos", you mean, like Sade type music!!!! Surely you mean "music for critics only"!!!!! ie the sort of stuff that might sound like rubbish to most sane people, but a music critic would praise to skies!!!!

Okay, i'll have go now. I can only come up with "Un" a cd by Sachiko M & Toshimaru Nakamura. It's sort of end-of-the-road music for us techno types, the final reduction if you will. Sachiko M is a Japanese musician, she only playes a memory-free sampler, which produces beautiful noise. In concert especially it's very impressive, difficult yet very simple, harsh yet soothing, etc. etc. If you have chance see her play life, it's a strange experience (and there probably will be some heckling idiots who find this sort of emptiness scary). Is this the kind of music sophistos like? ;)
