...autumnal, just plain pretty music in the forementioned vein (specially if it sounds like "orpheus", "boy with the gun" and "when poets dreamt of angels" or whatever it's called)

Stina Nordenstam's "And She Closed Her Eyes..." Haunting, wintry, like a nordic bossa nova - the opposite of Tropicale... closed-mike breathy vocals. She was almost on 4AD but now some weird Swedish major.

Sidsel Endresen : Bugge Wesseltoft, Out Here. In There

Sleeps with the Fishes by Pieter Nooten and Michael Brook would be my pick (the remake of Clan of Xymox's "After the Call" is pretty incredible - kills me every time).
Talk Talk's later stuff (Spirit of Eden, Laughing Stock) might also be up your alley.

three years pass...

Sipping coke and playing games.

If he isn't dearer to my heart than anything I heard in high school, I don't know what is.

two years pass...

and though i'd like to laugh
at all the things that led me on
somehow the stigma still remains

New album coming this summer - "Sleepwalkers" which compiles his recent collaborative one-offs.

three months pass...

the sun shines high above
the sounds of laughter
the birds swoop down upon
the crosses of old grey churches
we say that we're in love
while secretly wishing for rain
sipping coke and playing games
