What is the one "serious" song that never fails to crack you up?

peepee (peepee), Friday, 12 September 2003 16:03 (twenty-two years ago)

For me, it's "River Deep Mountain High" by Deep Purple.
(I laugh just thinking about it!)

Blue Oyster Cult (with help from Will Farrell & Christopher Walken) to thread.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 12 September 2003 16:15 (twenty-two years ago)

You want one or ten?

N. (nickdastoor), Friday, 12 September 2003 16:16 (twenty-two years ago)

"I got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell."

For me it's Whitney Houston's version of "I Will Always Love You".

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 12 September 2003 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

The SNL skit has been colossally unfunny the last 2 trillion times it has been invoked. I guess it's the "Where's the Beef" of the 00's or something.

Anyway Blue Oyster Cult were maybe the most unserious successful heavy rock band of the 70s.

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Friday, 12 September 2003 16:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I guess so, except that, unlike where's the beef, I still laugh deep belly laughs all the time just thinking about it, but whatever.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 12 September 2003 16:45 (twenty-two years ago)

"I've Never Been to Me"
"December 1963 (Oh What a Night)"
"Wanksta"
"Rhinestone Cowboy"
"The Reflex"
"Pour Out the Rain (Lacey's Song)"
"Hero"
"I'll Be Missing You"
"Bizarre Love Triangle" (the Frente version)
"Convoy"
[and I really love five of these songs]

Haikunym (Haikunym), Friday, 12 September 2003 16:47 (twenty-two years ago)

What's that one song "didn't you ever learn don't hit a lady"? That shit cracks me the fuck UP.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 12 September 2003 16:48 (twenty-two years ago)

"MacArthur Park"

Someone left the cake out in the rain....and I don't think that I can take it, `cos it took so long to bake it, and I'll never have that recipe again...!"

Say what?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 12 September 2003 18:27 (twenty-two years ago)

They're probably all by U2.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Friday, 12 September 2003 19:15 (twenty-two years ago)

ha ha how appropriately timed was it that I was coming onto this thread to post "My Way"?

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 12 September 2003 19:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I always laugh when I hear Kelly Rowland sing, "Even when I'm with my boo" on "Dilemma."
