I think she's cheating. I always hear real words, I think she just glances at a pizza takeaway menu lying on the studio floor and recites all the words while distorting the syllables so nobody will catch on. There's that one on 'Treasure' ("Beatrix"?"Persephone"?) that goes "That's where it's at, that's where it's at", like Donna Godchaux with acute appendicitis

Dave: I think it's "That's what it says," innit? One of my favorite Cocteau tracks, that.

I could isolate the one particular Cocteau melody that converted me, but not knowing the words and not having the record around, I think it'd be impossible to communicate.
