cuz i moved to an island after living in philadelphia since 1988 and all my albums and books are in storage cuz it was wet and moldy here this summer and we have to dry everything out so all i have in the house are the cd's which i'm bored of already and this big box of singles that didn't make it into storage for some reason. everything is pretty dry and unmoldy now though. so now we just have to find room for all my stuff and haul it out of storage. Butterball-Butterballs(Part 1)
Double B Butterball that's me/Too tall to get over too wide to get around/laying down the fat sound in our town/And mommy i'm doing it pound by pound/Now The disc jockey by any other name just couldn't be the same
There is no other like this soul brother/Tall,young and fly/Anytime you want me mommy/Reach out and i'll be your guide
3X7 makes me over 21/I wanna have me some fun/So knock me ?/And let me rap to ya mommy/I'm all you got i'm all you need
I'm as good to ya as i am for ya/Call me wax paper cuz i rap on anything/Call me Reynolds wrap cuz my rap is so strong/Call me candy rap cuz my rap is so sweet/And i laugh and i joke but baby i never miss that long, long stroke/Got different strokes for different strokes/Different ways on different days/different sights on different nights
Why don't you turn out your light and pull down your shades mommy/We've got it made cuz when i'm not near the girl i love i got to love the girl i'm near
Wanna get closer than white on rice/? on ice/Closer than the collars on a dog/Closer than the hairs on a country hog/Even closer than the law allows
Mommy!
Watch your daughter!/Daughter watch your mommy!
Ball's come to call/?/Laughin' and jokin'/Yours truly Butterball's been sock sock sockin' it to ya!/Cookin' and smokin'/?/You get so much with the Butterball touch/I'm not your meat man but i'm a sweet man/I'm not your ice man but i'm a nice man/I'm not your old man but i'm a soul man/And believe me baby i'm all man/I'm not 82 but i really know what to do
And daddy?
You want your woman to be true to you?
You better do like i do
Give her what she wants
When she wants it
Where she wants it
And anytime mommy thinks she wants it
If you can't do it
Leave me to it
If i can't do it
It can't be done!
Nuff said/You got the high price man/How can i lose/With the stuff i use
Um, so what did you listen to/what are you listening to today?(I keep forgetting to ask questions)

I've been listening to the new Frank Black & the Catholics all day. Cuz I've been out on the town and only grabbed on disc for my discman.
But I still love it, I just didn't need to listen to it in its entirety 7 times in a row.

that Ernest Van Treose single is one of my favorite funk 45s. The funny thing is that a lot of the best 70s funk 45s weren't on the little boutique labels, but rather were these odd one-offs on the major labels. If I recall, the Ernest Van Treose thing is actually that guy Hannibal under a different name, but my copy of the 45 is boxed up right now.
