I wonder. Sword sounded exactly like Field Studies sounded exactly like "Birds"...

So I'm guessing Roxichord-driven bouncy pop tunes with dark lyrics.

Actually, no. There was actually a Quasi thread just recently (I posted in it today) that you can look for.

But there's only Roxichord on a few tracks (disappointingly enough). I think it's pretty good, but not great. I don't think 'Field Studies' sounds like 'Sword' or 'Birds'. I LOVE Birds and 'R + B Transmogrification' and think 'Sword' is pretty great too. 'Field Studies' isn't that consitent, though it has some great songs.

'Hot Shit' is more guitar oriented with piano and synths and very little Roxichord. Some of the songs have slide guitar and overall the album is more political than past albums. The lyrics aren't really dark as they were before. The first have of the album is stronger than the second in my opinion.
