am i the only fragger out there who remembers this ZTT sanctioned bunch of AOC ripoff merchants ?
they even hit the NME cover having not released a record at the time (Escape from New York 12"), which leads to the following ..
years ago i saw cd copy of the album CA$H and didn't grab it. has anyone out there seen this lying in the bins or even better have it and hate it and want to clear the space.
whcih also leads onto another Q. which albums have you seen in the racks, not bought and then never seen it again and the regret then sets in .. my list : Nast Rox, Space (KLF spinoff), Major Malfu(c)tion - now reissued but not the point, FSUK Freestylers Mix .. oh and plenty of others ..

I love(d) most of "Cash". I remember hearing it in a record store and running to the counter to find out what it was (that should happen more often). Especially likable was their covers of Sugarhill Gang's "8th Wonder".
I don't know much about them. I have the "Escape From NY" 12", and don't like it. Does anyone know if Keith Leblanc drums on the album?

well Keith is thanked on the lp credits (i have the Cassette version) so there was a connection, and i know that KLB did a lot of session work at the Sarm West Studios (ZTT). so its more than likely.

Age of Chance???

I just played Age of Chance's "Kiss" back in my head, and it sounds so dated. I think that some of the Nasty Rox stuff has held up better.

aoc = age of chance. and 100 years of trouble still stands up all thinsg considering. though i am biassed. and CA$H was a definite take on the aoc sound the noise/samples/rock cross pollination. haven't heard CA$H in years hence i want the cd .. i'm guessing my quest continues ..
onwards and upwards ..

Given that the Paul Rutherford album has only recently seen the light of day on CD I would have thought that reissuing the Nasty Rox Inc album would be the next logical step. Whether they’ll have to use my copy for remastering purposes is another question altogether.

Here he is with the classic "Poème Électronique." Good track (Marcello Carlin), Thursday, 5 April 2012 14:38 (thirteen years ago)

as far as i know, they have all the tapes, and a LOT more in the vaults for an expanded reissue (3 hours of live japanese recordings !) .

last i heard one reason for no proper cd reissue is the concern over the big name samples that form the majority of the beats/guitars etc.

one year passes...

fuck it.

after a few glasses of wine, tonight i bought the digital edition.

the label quietly pushed the album out beyond the itunes world ..

sample excess vs 1987 : still sounds glorious.

damn .. thats 10 years of a thread, closed.

feels kind of weird.
