Larst night I listen to steeeeeve lamacq. I did surely bore thee a$$ off me. he played thee str0k3z. = sux0r. He play muse new single. this = better 'cuz it sound like radio-head, only they want to knock off cheeze-trance instead of IDM (IDM=sux0r). Anyway, I note that Mr Lamacq gets another three 2-hr shows thiz week. Now I know there's some kind ov market out there 4 ramalama punkpop, so fair enough that he gets his one show, BUT, given that no-one iz going to kall him a, er, "man ov broad tastes", can anyone give me a reazon why we can't have, like, 4 different DJ's w/different tastes in musick broadcasting thee mon-thurs 8-10pm shift? Or rotate 8 diff djs over a 2 week cycle? I'd like to hear fortnightly national radio show hosted & chosen by robin carmody, or DJ martian, or kate lolly, for example, but we don't get that, do we. We get more steve lamacq. More and more steve lamacq, who likes bands who sound ALL THE SAME. WHY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

xoxo

"I did surely" = he did surely.

U may also wish to comment on the great cull of specialist local radio shows, & their replacement w/"drivetime" bollox0rs @ thee slimy hands ov advertisers & centralised KKKontrol. THE GREAT UNREPORTED SCANDAL OV BRITISH POP RADIO.

I used to love the 'Evening Session' back in the day. It was my one and only source for innovative new music, eg Ash, Sleeper etc. Now I'd rather eat my own feet than listened to that rat-faced mouth- breather. Single strongest memory of 'Lammo' = thinking Green Day were/are GRATE. But anyway, YES! More and different music progs on Radio one. Please.

DG, Tuesday, 21 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

But Green Day are GRATE. They certainly don't pretend to be more than they are.

We have Studio Brussel here in Belgium (studiobrussel.be). They play everything from Zombies to Bruce Springsteen but also Camper Van Beethoven, Green Day, Sonic Youth,... Apparently they base their lists on research. I am quite sure Radio One does the same. And |\|0|2/|\4|\| |=4'/, you don't belong to the majority. ;-)

At least you have that much. The only pop station here plays Britney- NSync-Eminem-Destiny's Child OVER AND OVER AND OVER. The only rock station plays the same Pink Floyd songs every night.

"But Green Day are GRATE." Ned, PLEASE be joking!

DG, Tuesday, 21 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

B-but they ARE!

Josh, Tuesday, 21 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Fiddle on you, DG. While I listen to the Buzzcocks more often, to give an example, I have no problem with listening to a Green Day album, and indeed was just listening to Kerplunk! yesterday. A friend of mine was actually going out with Tre Cool in 1993, the Year Before the Breakthrough, and they almost played UCI that year except the show was cancelled an hour before they hit the stage (long story, but riot police and H. Ross Perot were involved).

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 21 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Oh no. Green Day are the WORST.

DG, Tuesday, 21 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Worse than the first two Stone Temple Pilots albums? You're a bold man.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 21 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

My friend the sex god A.L. (not Al (Ewing) went to see the Stone Temple Pilots this evening. Ha ha!

At least you're not as bad off as me because I haven't got a radio. Wa wa wa. Stop fucking crying. Martian on the radio would make me sad I haven't got a radio. It's really not that bad. I can't imagine much worse than Robin on the radio because I HAVEN'T GOT A RADIO. One for the trouble, two for the new Kelis album.
