Due early November on Perlon. Not sure if it's gonna be on CD too but if so I am super fucking excited. Probably my favorite m****house label evah. Yummy yummy yummy. Blah blah blah.
Anyone seen a tracklist yet?

The briefest of rundowns - I've listened to this a ton but more as background, so haven't really gleaned much insight yet:
* Villalobos' track is really different from Alcachofa. In fact, it's almost loungey. Not my favorite thing he's done, but the rhythm is incredible. Jury's out on the jazz chords though.
* Dimbiman is genius as ever, officially making gray the most beautiful color in the world.
* Dandy Jack's "Gigolo Andino" (a misnomer - he's happily settled down now!) is probably the best thing he's put to vinyl, at least solo. He takes Cabaret Voltaire, sticks it full of tacks, and launches it with a wristrocket.
* Pantytec goes all Akufen on us, but it sounds good, not gimmicky.
* Melchior Productions: who could get tired of "Feel Sensual"? BTW, Playhouse is planning a Melchior full-length for 2004.
* "Dream Within a Dream" is not, alas, based on samples of Propaganda, as far as I can tell. This this is Akufen under another name, but am too lazy to reach for the one-sheet.
* The Frenchies in Copacabannark, as usual, have that strangely dragging rhythm that marks all their productions. Is the Paris water supply full of lead or something?
* Soulphiction -- who doesn't love Soulphiction? This track is much more "Perlonny" and much less house than their earlier stuff.
* STL -- delicate Detroit pinging a la Newworldaquarium.
* Jabberjaw's tune here is like Akufen, if Akufen were a rash that got really infected and festered all over the place.
* Markus Nikolai ain't afraid to be cheesy.
* Sense Club: African percussion goes down the drain, followed by Drano.

Sounds great -- this should make up for Phil Parnell's and Morane's recent finger-down-throat singles.
Horror Inc is definitely Akufen. He put out a creepy (and great) 12" on Revolver under that name earlier this year.

Andy, i'm with you there -- well, not with the Parnell, because I haven't listened enough, but I just could not get with the Morane. But I forgive them because the other bluesleeve record, the new Dimbiman, is as good as this stuff gets.

i am so excited for this, oddly enough as i thought i was pretty exhausted with tiny music.
i doubt it will beat the new mayer mix for me though.

When is Markus Nikolai gonna make a new album?
Back is wonderful, but surely three years is enough time to come up with something new!? Considering that a lot of other producers (esp. half the Pokerflat roster) take their cues from that album, it would be interesting to see where his head is at now.
