New Booty Mix - Suggestions Needed

The laydeez I live with like to hold booty parties and dance provocatively (their next project is to learn Beyonce's dance from the Baby Boy/Crazy In Love performance from the MTV Music Awards - whoever thinks it's scary need their eyes checked! It's amazing!), and they rely on me to provide the booty music, which translates as sexy r&b and hip hop with sprinklings of dancehall and bhangra. I've already done a couple of cds for them which always go down well at our parties, but I apparantly need to make another one with hot cuts from the last couple of months or so. I need help compiling this! List your suggestions here!

I'm currently planning:

"Magic Stick", "Baby Boy", "Pump It Up", "Senorita", "Right Thurr", "Cop That Shit", "Pass The Dutch", "Business", "Got Some Teeth", "Like Glue", "Pop Shit", "Stand Up", "Get Low"... but what else?

Some obvious choices like "Crazy In Love" and "Snake" have been rendered illegible by previous inclusion.

ah, you should have a flashback moment in there and include the King of Booty Tunes, 'Daisy Dukes'

Fabrice (Fabfunk), Monday, 6 October 2003 10:24 (twenty-two years ago)

can i come round your house for tea Tim?

Obv yes! I'm gonna be really sad when we go our separate ways at the end of the year, we've had the most amazing parties!!

minna (minna), Monday, 6 October 2003 13:23 (twenty-two years ago)

(oh it turns out they are 2 different mixes... both good! the one from the kanye mix is more joyous but the one from the album might fit your purposes better?)

Slum Village feat. ms jade and Raje Shwari - Disco Remix
also R. Kelly's "thoia thoing"

EricFL (Eric our fearless leader), Monday, 6 October 2003 18:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Assault's "Sometimes" goes down with the ladies, or so I hear. Especially the "bust a nut" line.

Xii (Xii), Monday, 6 October 2003 18:41 (twenty-two years ago)

"Fuck You Hoe" is another favourite.

Nick H, Monday, 6 October 2003 22:51 (twenty-two years ago)

hotta than dem - ward 21 (-I witnessed its magnificent booty-energising power at first hand on saturday night...)

Conor (Conor), Monday, 6 October 2003 23:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I should note that booty refers to "good for booty-dancing" rather than booty-tech - that would most definitely *not* go down well I think as it's too fast (I'm even uncertain as to whether to put on Mya's "Whatever Bitch").

Thanks for the suggestions so far!

that's what grime's missing! = SEX

Paul (scifisoul), Tuesday, 7 October 2003 01:50 (twenty-two years ago)

except: Wayne Williams - "All About The Sex (Jon E. Cash mix)"

Paul (scifisoul), Tuesday, 7 October 2003 01:51 (twenty-two years ago)

there's a track on the new Badu release (Worldwide Underground) that's pure bounce, feat. her, Queen Latifah, Angie Stone and Bahamadia (dunno what it's called, but the chorus goes "Ring, ding, dong," etc.

the new Mary J. is slamming.

the b-side to one of the last Black Eyed Peas singles is also fresh - something along the lines of "you can find it in the club".

DJ Assault's "Sometimes" wins over "Fuck You Hoe" for this sterling piece of journalism by Brian Whitener (taken from the Allmusic.com review of Off The Chain For The Y2K):
"The album's breakthrough track, however, is "Sometimes," which sets Assault apart aesthetically with its honest and, in its way, beautiful treatment of sexual relations that accepts both sexual vulnerability and aggressivity."

Xii (Xii), Wednesday, 8 October 2003 00:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Tim yr list is spot-on, but I'm not sure if "Pop Shit" really fits well in there. my suggestions:

Lady Saw - Let's Go Party

Cassidy feat. R. Kelly - Hotel

Lorna - Te Traigo El Mmmmm (Papichulo) (you might know this thru Ragga Reyes "Papichulo" - it's basically the same thing, but more realised, club friendly, meatier, ferocious & raunchy stripped-down Mexican pop headbutting w/ soca and dancehall)

and perhaps

Fannypack - Cameltoe (if you go ahead with "Whatever Bitch", then this is mandatory!)

Mind Taker, Wednesday, 8 October 2003 17:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks Mind Taker! I haven't heard any of those.

"that's what grime's missing! = SEX"

I was thinking about this and I'm not so sure if grime actually needs sex - surely the lack of sex is not only an explicit post-2-step positioning, but also a secret pledge of allegiance to rave? Too much sex and grime would actually *become* hip hop.

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Thursday, 9 October 2003 00:07 (twenty-one years ago)

i can vouch for mind taker's lorna reccommendation!

tim post the final tracklist here, i <3 this stuff :)
