Altamont? early Jesus & Mary Chain shows? Woodstock '99?

Rock & Roll Riots: Classic or Dud? Obviously classic to read about, but still classic for those who get bonked in the head?

Anecdotes about violent gig experiences requested. Always a bad thing?

Classic! As is the rest of Daydream Nation.

Rock&Roll Riots, Dud. FTAA/WTO/G8 riots are the new Rock&Roll riots, even if you think they have the right reasons they're duds.

'Right reasons'? There shouldn't be ANY reason! Violence should always be pointless. Otherwise it just gets legitimized, and legitimate violence = barbarism. Break Stuff!

You know I argee with you but I just didnt want to argue all day long about it here. I usually have fun on gybe list getting the antiftaa set going.

And the G8 meeting place in Canada is a classic. Enviromentaly sensitive, isolated and barren. One road in, no city near by and in the middle of Canada's most right learning province.

done here, in miniature. I'm still disappointed there wasn't a Sade riot at MSG. I was told to sit down before the first song had finished!!

A new art riot?

Why have I used that crap joke twice today? What is wrong with me?

i was working the door at the country club in reseda (i'm not a bouncer, not a physically violent person, but i am large and they needed someone to do it) for napalm death/godflesh/(other metal bands). during godflesh's set one or two people got stabbed in the pit, and one of them walked past me, through the door, and into the street. i had no idea what to do. i was scared shitless, to be honest.

teenage anything, dud. riots in general, dud - i'd really like for my faith in mankind, this concept that perhaps a large group can gather without taking up sides and bashing each other's heads in, to someday be justified. somewhere other than fugazi shows.
