I've never heard Crass. Do you think I'd like them? If so, what songs?

Sonny A. (Keiko), Thursday, 9 October 2003 00:11 (twenty-one years ago)

oh they all sound the same, really.

gabbo giftington (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 9 October 2003 00:15 (twenty-one years ago)

yes sir, i will at high volumes is as good a lease-breaker as i know

gabbo giftington (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 9 October 2003 00:16 (twenty-one years ago)

they do NOT all sound the same, Gabbo. stop spreading vicious rumours. really, the mall? yeesh. who knew. that's what ya get for not believing in lawyers or law i suppose. a good place to start would be their album Penis Envy. it's catchy and peppy and kinda kicky!! it's for the gal on the go. god i loved them when i was a kiddie. i wanted to live in their house. Nest magazine had pictures of their house in an issue a couple months ago. penny rimbaud look old and stately.

scott seward, Thursday, 9 October 2003 00:19 (twenty-one years ago)

i should also mention that when i was 15 i also wanted to live at Bananarama's house. not that they had a house together or anything.

scott seward, Thursday, 9 October 2003 00:40 (twenty-one years ago)

thats weird right? cos you might think that bananarama could all live together in a big yellow house and have slumber parties and shit but that crass might be a bit too grown up for that...

gaz (gaz), Thursday, 9 October 2003 00:51 (twenty-one years ago)

gabbo giftington (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 9 October 2003 00:59 (twenty-one years ago)

scott seward, Thursday, 9 October 2003 01:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Sonny A. (Keiko), Thursday, 9 October 2003 02:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Thursday, 9 October 2003 03:54 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm fairly confident holly valance is wearing a ramones tshirt in her latest clip.

she wears it well i might add. sorry i'm ashamed of myself.

gallantseagull, Thursday, 9 October 2003 04:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Dame Kiri Te Kanawa can be be regularly seen wearing an Exploited t-shirt in rehearsal.

Billy Dods (Billy Dods), Thursday, 9 October 2003 08:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I saw Crass live at the National Film Theatre last year. There are no words to express how awful they are. Amusingly John Robb (or someone) interviewed them for a recent CTCL. Crass railed against posh boys like ver Strokes for being 'false metal' or whatever.

Crass all went to Eton, everyone knows this.

Enrique (Enrique), Thursday, 9 October 2003 08:57 (twenty-one years ago)

One of Blue was in an AntiPasti tee-shirt on kids TV a few weeks back.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 9 October 2003 09:53 (twenty-one years ago)

It was John Robb what did it.

And Holly does wear a Ramones tee.

Jim Robinson (Original Miscreant), Thursday, 9 October 2003 11:53 (twenty-one years ago)

On a similar tip, one of Godspeed You Black Emperor told my friend off before one of their gigs for wearing a bootleg GYBE t-shirt.

Right on.

Jim Robinson (Original Miscreant), Thursday, 9 October 2003 11:55 (twenty-one years ago)

if any young actress
has the right to be punk rock
it is ms. jolie

Haikunym (Haikunym), Thursday, 9 October 2003 13:21 (twenty-one years ago)

GYBE complaining about bootleg GYBE T-shirts is...OK, not surprising at all. Or ironic. Or funny either. Or even sad. What's the word I'm looking for? Endearing?

JesseFox (JesseFox), Friday, 10 October 2003 06:31 (twenty-one years ago)

But it seemed a bit at odds with their 'devolve commercial power, capitalism sucks' schtick. In that he was complaining that this guy was wearing an UNOFFICIAL t-shirt.

I once met a guy at a different Godspeed gig who had the logo on the front of Slow Riot TATTOOED on his arm. He apparently went up to one of the band at the previous night's show and proudly demonstrated it, to which the band member was like 'it's okay as long as you know what it means'.

The guy then proceeded to tell me exactly what it meant with the biggest smile on his face, as if he'd received official recognition from on high.

THAT is endearing.
