if only we could combine them both into some sort of who-tang clan.

If only John Entwistle & Keith Moon could've had the opportunity to leave those other two blowhards behind and back up Method Man & RZA & ODB. That would be SO sweet. (Unless the Pete Townsend in question was a young, unpretentious one.)

As it stands, though, I'll have to side with Wu, simply because of M- E-T-H-O-D (Man!) and Big Baby Jesus.

I dunno -- I think had Roger Daltrey been born twenty-to-thirty years later than he was, he might be able to give Eminem a run for the money.

The Wu. Easily. While the Who released great music up through "Sell Out," the Wu have yet to foist upon us a concept album, a hiphopera, and a future reunion tour with geriatric ODB in a wheelchair (why? because he'll do something at the rate he's going to warrant it) and Meth coughing up more than he sucks down. (Although there is still time for all those 'tings, specially the latter.) Plus, in terms of solo outings, the Wu is Mark McGuire, whereas the Who are playin t- ball.

Um, I'd like to know when the Who have done a tour featuring wheelchairs and coughing up lungs - hell, ODB is pretty much already at that point, the Who are all still in fantastic shape.

I just don't like the Wu. They're possibly my least favorite acclaimed rap act. I just can't do it. Solo work is a different story.

Good Ol' Rog still looks like a beast. How old is he now? 55?

JM, Thursday, 23 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

153, which still makes him 74 years younger than Mick Jagger. At least that's what I always assumed.

He actually looks better now than he did as a lad, I think.

Hrm. Perhaps Wu hatred turns you into a humorless crank? Or just another one my insane theories?

jess, Thursday, 23 August 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Judging by the person who started this thread, you could make an excellent case for the exact opposite.

"The Who are all still in fantastic shape" - exactly the reason I love Papa Roach. Taking sides: Ally vs Ethan. I say Ethan because he's me in disguise.

I would say the Who, because the wu could never be accused of being foppish.

the who were utterly funkless. but 'live at leeds' is everything rock'n'roll need ever give you.
