I think that the original version of "Are you ready for Love" by Sir Elton is wonderful, despite being co-written by Thom Bell. What pisses me off is Fatboy Slim's mix of it. Rest assured Fatass Slim has been put on my Hate List.

I thought Norman cook didn't touch the original? 'm pretty sure he just licensed it and stuck it out, for fear of falling into the truly awful Elvis trap.

Unless yr talking about the original duet, in which case...I still think the recent release is cool.

Yeah, the single is the original '79 version (edited down from its 8:34 minute length). There are Mylo, Radio Slave, Freeform Five, Linus Loves, Ashley Beedle and Serge Santiago remixes on various 12"s, but no Fatboy Slim one...
