Stolen from a Metafilter thread, here's a Quicktime version of a North Korean propaganda video with a rippin' soundtrack. Look for "Fucking USA" to storm the Billboard charts like the North Korean army marching into Seoul, yeahhh!

Shit, I'm afraid that'll bring my computer to a smashing crash, but it's as good uh place as any to launch the question: any experts on Korean (esp north) punk rock out there? History/culture/religion/Han specialists velcome aussi.

Turns out it's actually from South Korea, and it was created after an Olympic scandal involving speed skaters that was apparently HUGE over there.

I got some S. Korean nu-metal by Seotaiji and a split with a couple of terrible Blink 182/Linkin Park wannabe acts on it, it's awful.

Much better is the ROK's hip-hop scene, they have some choice MCs. They use 'fuck' like it's not even a borrowed term, it's great.

the DPRK only has one discotheque and it's in a hotel, reserved for use by foreign visitors. North Koreans aren't allowed to listen to anything fun.

Re scandal, was it as good as when the Spanish Special Olympics basketball team had to hand back their gold medals as it turned out that they were lying, and weren't actually retarded? Like, where do I sign up for a job like that?

Did that actually happen, Dave?! I smell a big summer blockbuster starring Steve-O and Chris Kattan.
