they are a sha-la-la American indie band, sounding kind of like The Primitives crossed with the Jesus And Mary Chain only different. I am aware that all indie bands sound like something crossed with the JAMC.

I saw them open for Yo La Tengo & they were very good -- kind of early Stereolab but lose & no Krautrock.

unfortunately not - that is my birthday so I shall be celebrating in Oxford and a v. dear friend is leaving my company so it's her leaving do too. But I shall be there in spirit.
