Kid Rock's "Feel Like Makin' Love" vs limpbizkit's "Behind Blue Eyes"

You know, I listened to Rock's version of the Bad Company hit first. It stayed true to the original for the most part with a little chicka-chicka-chicka record scratching to take the song into the chorus. There was also a girl in there making orgasm sounds at one point of the song. It's interesting to see this guy go from wanting to be the 4th Bass to Hank, Jr. to Paul Rodgers. Makes me appreciate Eminem more.

Even with all that said, I knew that I was going to hate the limpbizki.com version of "Behind Blue Eyes". What I heard was a backhanded reverent salute to The Who done in a very Staindesque "Outside" sort of way. Not only did Durst make an effort to sing, but not once did he tell me that he was feeling my lighter. At least this was my fatigued opinion until the SPEAK N' SPELL started singing along. After that, it was all over. It was a sham. I looked at the CD case and noticed that I was listening to the "clean" edit. THE CLEAN EDIT? OF "BEHIND BLUE EYES"? This made me angrier.

So what do you think? *shoots self in head.*

ooh say can you see by the dawn's early light

I haven't heard either of these but I bet the Kid Rock version of FLML fucking rules, it's a perfect song for him.

RE Kid Rock: amazing. The unholy marriage of one of my most reviled songs ever with one of my most reviled 'musicians' ever. I'll keep this in mind if I am ever suicidal.

haven't heard kidrock's but Limp Bizkit's sucks. I don't like the original either. It'd have been better if he did say he was feeling our lighters RIGHT WHEN the speak'n'spell demanded we discover L-I-M-P.

I am completely obsessed with this Limp Bizkit song now. It's kind of scary.

Have I really been posting here for almost a year? If memory serves correct, this was the first thread that I ever started.

I don't know why people are complaining about the Speak-N'-Spell; it's great!

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 19:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Why why why?
I predict Kid Rock will have a successful run at Caesar's Palace in Vegas in about 10 years.

Are you bonkers? DISCOVER, L - I - M - P - Z. DISCOVER, L - I - M - P - Z. The hell is that even supposed to mean?

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 19:41 (twenty-one years ago)

It's not Z, it's "say it."

And it means you're supposed to discover Limp Bizkit, dumbass.

manthony m1cc1o (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 19:45 (twenty-one years ago)

and this song has totally grown on me.

manthony m1cc1o (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 19:47 (twenty-one years ago)

It's "SAY IT", not "Z". It's supposed to mean "Hey guys, this is a Limp Bizkit song! This time we're doing the obligatory namecheck in an early-90s rave stylee! PLUR/KORITFW!"

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 19:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Discover Limp. Make it into a bumpersticker and put it on your cars, AM & DP.

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 20:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Grow More Limp

Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 20:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't do bumper stickers.

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 20:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Me neither. Through the internet I have helped many people discover Limp, though. I am proud.

I hate both the original tracks in question, so it makes sense that I would prefer the more absurd one.

You people are crazy, but not as crazy as these anal freaks.

(Uh, that link IS safe for work, despite the hypertext that I just used.)

These Anal Freaks are appearing at Hammerjacks next Friday, opening for Insane Clown Posse. They are fuckin' smoking!
