BUT....before you type in ELO greatest hits Vol 1, only VARIOUS ARTISTS please! Also only single or double albums (2 X LP or CD)...I am counting triples as box sets for the purposes of this thread. So no Trojan boxes or Motown Gold! Label comps obv allowed if not box sets.

in that case, i would have picked the other big Morr compilation - "Blue Skied An' Clear", the Slowdive tribute. And also "Caroline Now! The Songs Of Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys"

Cosmic Kurushi Monsters (1996, Virgin - this may be complete nostalgia, I've not played it for years)
The Dark Side 2 - Hardcore Drum And Bass Style (I think it came out on Reinforced, 1993)
Various Artists 10 (compiled by me, 1995 - trust me it was fucking great, well, I'm fond of it anyway)
300% Dynamite! (Soul Jazz, 2000 or so - other reggae comps might well be better but this was how I 'got' Jamaican music after many a go)
Now Zero (Freaky Trigger, 2004)

If the last isn't legit then substitute any good 2CD 'giants of soul music'/Best Soul Album In The World...Ever album - always the same tracks popping up but they're all great and there's no obscurity fanny-dangle to confuse the soul novice.

It's a continuous mix with track speeds shifted to fit the mix. Hideous!
