Nuff sed.

'Featuring' Enrique (Enrique), Thursday, 16 October 2003 13:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Ain't she dead? Great Pogues song.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 16 October 2003 14:57 (twenty-two years ago)

She may be dead, but Sean Paul is the New Her, so... I really did think nuff sed, you know? Okay, back in the day McColl was the 'featuring' vocalist of choice, just as Sean Paul is now. Do you see? Admittedly ILX has been on the blink, but one post? Sheesh.

Enrique (Enrique), Thursday, 16 October 2003 15:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Shabba Ranks was a featured vocalist as much as her around '89-'92 i reckon - Shabba vs Sean too obvious tho (actually not sure who i'd plump for there either)

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 16 October 2003 15:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Was he? Anyway, I'm with SP, even though the nu Beyonce with him is k-rub, and 'Breathe' was like a 4-year-old rekkid. Better than Happy Mondays' 'Hallelujah' - just.

Enrique (Enrique), Thursday, 16 October 2003 15:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Shabba appeared with Scritti Politti, Maxi Priest and Queen Latifah. McColl with Happy Mondays, Billy Bragg and....?

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 16 October 2003 15:30 (twenty-two years ago)

oh yeh the Wonder Stuff of course

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 16 October 2003 15:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I dunno. I was like 10. The Pogues, errrrrmmmmmm oh she did, trust me, loads. Well SP's not done that much anyway! Get in the spirit maaan...

Enrique (Enrique), Thursday, 16 October 2003 15:32 (twenty-two years ago)

i choose sean paul.

mitch lastnamewithheld (mitchlnw), Thursday, 16 October 2003 15:38 (twenty-two years ago)

It's becoming increasingly obvious that the preemenint featured vocalist of 2003 is Lil Jon, even on his own stuff. And he makes everything better.

Tom Breihan (Tom Breihan), Thursday, 16 October 2003 15:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Also, everyone should just take a second and contemplate how great a Pogues/Lil Jon collabo would be.

Tom Breihan (Tom Breihan), Thursday, 16 October 2003 15:45 (twenty-two years ago)

The real question is: which team could drink more: Eastside Boyz or Pogues (w/McGowan)??

Matt Helgeson (Matt Helgeson), Thursday, 16 October 2003 17:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah of course, ILM boys club couldn't possibly like Kirsty McColl above the obvious Sean Paul. Naturally none of you have heard her early 80s noise work with Bill Drummond.

Carmello (Ronan), Thursday, 16 October 2003 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)

She was fucking dire, her version of The Kinks' "Days" was worthy of the electric chair. The only reason she got all those guest slots is because she was married to Steve Lillywhite - unless all those bands really did want to duet with a Speak-Your-Weight machine

Dadaismus (Dada), Thursday, 16 October 2003 17:55 (twenty-two years ago)

McColl with Happy Mondays, Billy Bragg and....?

She was the backing vocals of "They Don't Know" as done by Tracy Ullman including the "BABY" part.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 16 October 2003 18:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I know for a fact she did some Talking Heads backing work (Byrne said she had the voice of an angel), but I can't for the life of me remember which one.

Anyway Sean Paul: constant play throughout 2003, Kirsty: constant play through just December.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 17 October 2003 01:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Kirsty McColl (I though it was 'Mac...' though, so maybe I shouldn't have a say). I have an innate distrust of people with two first names.

Sasha (sgh), Friday, 17 October 2003 02:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I heared Jo Wiley refer to 50 Cent yeterday, in an intimate style, as "Fifty".

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 17 October 2003 07:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Hard to believe this is even a question: dead or alive, Kirsty MacColl trounces fucking Sean Paul six ways to Sunday.

johnny fever (johnny fever), Friday, 17 October 2003 11:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Its WunEffEm policy. Pearshy does the same.

Enrique (Enrique), Friday, 17 October 2003 11:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Would that be "Dave..."?

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 17 October 2003 12:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Dave to me, of course - I don't like to namedrop.
