Jeanne OTM. Rita Ackermann is HUGE in Japan, much bigger than in NYC if you can believe that (she was at Andrea Rosen last time I was in NYC). Rita used to have space at a retail store (wet melon) for her art/design/clothing in Shibuya Tokyo with an unthinkable real estate lease, I couldn't imagine an artist of her equivalent even attempting somethign similar domestically.

If any of you talk to her (i've already asked hstencil), please ask her for her email for a very interested fan of her work who would love to make a purchase of something from her collection ca. 1996-1999... send that email my way!

she also did a project called diadial with jutta koetner - it was a double LP with one being music, the other being two sides of etched vinyl. pretty neat.
