HARDFLOOR - please inform me

well, i had a look and i couldnt find a thread just about hardfloor. so my brothers girlfriend gave me a double tape pack of 'the best of hardfloor'. and it is heavy! i have been bumpin it in my car ever since. but some of it is a bit dodgy, especially some of those remixes. specifically, the ones that arent just straight up dirty acid beats.

so, recommend me hardfloor tracks that are bad ass bangin dancefloor killers. like the circus bells remix. that is rude.
and i no, i still havent heard 'acperience'.

or, just talk about hardfloor.

Gareth collaborated with them in 94 on an unreleased track. There's another track of theirs I really love, I think it's called Lost In The Silver Box.

Josh Wink's Higher State Of Consciousness is kind of a rip off of Acperience really.

hear 'acperience' asap. that's all you'll ever need to know about hardfloor.

They were the masters of the Roland 303 'acid machine'. Often used 3 of them in sync to make some of the most heavy, bangin' trance/techno I've heard. Acperience 1 (the actual track name) is a classic, and still sounds pretty good. Most of their other singles and remixes followed the same pattern: a slow, throbby bassline over a 140bpm straight ahead beat, slowly building until a big break when the 303s all start freaking out, climaxing with a snare build-up and a big crash into the beats again. Repeat.

i love the 'Circus Bells' remix, 'Acperience' goes without saying - 303 orgasms galore. the 'Blue Monday' remix is cool, as is the Mory Kante one (tho they're pretty much all the same).

i like 'Dubdope' too aka 'Dadamnphreaknoizefunk' from the Kruder & Dorfmeister DJ Kicks.

mildly interesting fact: Ramon Zenker of Hardfloor co-produced Fragma's 'Toca Me'

ambrose we were just talking about hardfloor saturday at the pub before we met up w/you! maybe that's not a huge coincidence tho. acperience, circus bells, ROK ON, OK! i like the off-kilter drums intro to "boudoulee" or however you spell it, cause it's trickee

Search: "The Best Of Hardfloor", a 2CD featuring their best tracks on CD1 and the remixes (New Order, Depeche Mode, Mory Kante, Robert Armani, Anne Clark) on CD2. Essential.

After years of trouble, the Harthouse label has finally gone belly-up, so Hardfloor are producing again on their own label. Three extremely limited 12"s, haven't heard them yet.

Ramon Zenker also produced the rather dubious acts Bellini ("Samba De Janeiro!"), Interactive and Paffendorf.

they even remixed Mike bloody Oldfield (i feel like i have said all this before - i'm sure there's another Hardfloor thread)

Also worth listening is their side project Da Damn Phreak Noize Phunk, which mixes acid house with funk samples. They've released at least one LP under that name (It's called "Electronic Crate Diggers" or something like that).

wasn't one of the tracks from Electric Crate Diggers suspiciously similar to Clockwork Voodoo Freaks's 'Deaf Mick's Throwdown' (as featured on Fatboy Slim's On The Floor At The Boutique) both sampling 'The Champ' by The Mohawks? practically the same thing no?

it's about time to bring 'TB Resuscitation' on a road trip again. 'acperience 3' from 'acperience e.p.' is my favorite version.

I've been listening to electronic dance music for almost 20 years now, and I'm still convinced Hardfloor's "Once Again Back" has the roughest, most kick-ass bassline ever:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ekn7cjLaGOs

The only thing that almost equals it in roughness is "Paperclip Man" by Paperclip People.

I think one of the tunes on it samples "The Champ", but it doesn't really sound like "Deaf Mick's Throwdown". "The Champ" has been sampled hella often in rap and dance music, so it isn't really plagiarism if they both use it.
