Musicians' Faces And How They Influence You

While watching the video for Good Charlotte's "Boys And GIrls", a friend remarked that the lead singer had a "really likable face". I agreed, thinking that yes, he looks like a really fun guy and maybe that's why I kind of like the song. And I like Interpol, but when I first went to their website you should have seen my face contort (cos I couldn't!) when I looked at theis press photos. Although alone, I vocalized a shocked ".......fucking......DORKS!" to myself. They look like the kind of guys you can hang out with for days on end but like on day two they still say "no thank you" ("I'm good" would be too colloquial for them) when you offer them food. Why, is my food not ANGULARLY PREPARED enough for you?

Please add your experiences re: appearance influencing your take on a band.

I always thought that the Good Charlotte's lead singer looked as if he would be a complete and utter tosser. Craig Nicholls' face also makes me want to set about it with a a Louisville Slugger.

Yo Darren's D. nice to see you are still among the living.

I like Chingy because he seems very charming.

I like Stuart Murdoch's face because it looks like a mental indie ginger version of Bernard Sumner's.

Sup dudes! Are you staying radical in a bogus world? I hope you are, so email me for lower mainland hookups (and to tell me who your old screennames were).

Good Charlotte look like a punk version of the Little Rascals. That doesn't endear me to them.

Damian (Damian), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 23:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh dont get me wrong Damian, GC as a whole look like total geeks but the singer guy looks really friendly and sincere. And in interviews he comes off just like his face would lead you to believe (believably humble, not disingenuous humble like Moby).

morrissey wouldn't seem half as interesting if he looked like, say, david gedge from the wedding present...or any random postman looking indie guy...
the guy from tool looks like a dick
so does the foo fighters guy...forgotten him - he looks like a forgettable dick.
i like michael stipe's face, and nick cave's.
i think interpol look interesting, and i always say 'no thank you'. 'i'm good' sounds like frat speak.

I might be more predisposed to listen to someone's music if they look like someone whom I would want to talk to. Probably most new stuff I hear, I have no idea what the musicians look like, but in a few cases, seeing a picture of someone made me more curious about what they would sound like. Not necessarily because I thought they were hot, they just looked interesting or thoughtful or intelligent.

I always thought Dave Grohl looked really friendly.

Sean (Sean), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 04:42 (twenty-two years ago)

That's how I feel about Marc Almond.

Ricky Wilson had the sweetest little chipmunk/Opie face.

Arthur (Arthur), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 04:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I like Stuart Murdoch's face because it looks like a mental indie ginger version of Bernard Sumner's.
