Ever Fallen Asleep At A Show?

Ned's Spiritualized thread made me remember the time in (I think) 1997 when me and some college friends went to see Spiritualized. We were lucky enough to get a table and chairs on the balcony of the club. They had a lot of hypnotic lights and were doing many long, drawn out drone jams, and suddenly I awoke to realize that I had actually fallen asleep for about 15 minutes. (For full disclosure, I should say that some, um, pre-show activities could have contributed to my falling asleep, so it's maybe not entirely Jason S's fault)....anyway, has anyone else ever slept through the rock?

Matt Helgeson (Matt Helgeson), Tuesday, 21 October 2003 23:48 (twenty-two years ago)

No more Orb all-nighters for me...

adaml (adaml), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 00:02 (twenty-two years ago)

i fell asleep at a Joe Pernice show once. admittedly i was dog tired to start with.

the surface noise (electricsound), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 00:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes. I fell asleep (on my feet) at a secret Sonic Youth (playing as "Sonic Death") show at the old Knitting Factory when it was on Houston Street (just West of Mott).

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 00:04 (twenty-two years ago)

not really a rock show but i fell asleep at a Ryuichi Sakamoto show. it was warm in the auditorium, the seat was comfy and the music was super hypnotic. it was bliss!

stirmonster, Wednesday, 22 October 2003 00:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I FELL ASLEEP WATCHING UR FAV BAND

Sonny A. (Keiko), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 00:54 (twenty-two years ago)

adaml (adaml), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 00:58 (twenty-two years ago)

i fell asleep at smashing pumpkins once

Pablo Cruise (chaki), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 01:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I fell asleep once at...Spiritualized! Laserium Floyd era was a soporific thing.

As I also never tire of saying, I feel asleep...admittedly already a bit tired that day anyway, but still...at Godspeed you Black Emperor. From six feet away. STANDING UP.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 01:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Blonde Redhead. What else is one supposed to do?

adam (adam), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 01:39 (twenty-two years ago)

i fell asleep at rollins band/lench mob/beastie boys in 1992? 91?. the sweat of angry boys had a narcotizing effect on me i guess.

maura (maura), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 01:49 (twenty-two years ago)

i about fell asleep listening to Spiritualized at their show in providence on friday night!

D Aziz (esquire1983), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 06:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Art Ensemble of Chicago in a theater during the Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle, middle of the afternoon, 1997. They sounded good but it was pretty drifty and I was winded.

M Matos (M Matos), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 06:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Prolly doesn;t count ... but I fell asleep at a Kool Keith show at the ol' Wetlands Preserve in NYC ... but Keith didn;t take the stage till like 1:30 a.m., and I had been working all day. I was awake in time for his Black Elvis shtick.

Chris O., Wednesday, 22 October 2003 07:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I fell asleep at a His Name Is Alive show at CBGB's - that took some doing. (Read: a handful of pills and three pints of Guinness). I also fell asleep during Sonic Youth's AWFUL AWFUL ATP free jazz jam. Or at least, I tried my bloody best to.

kate (kate), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 07:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I fell asleep to aphex twin Djing really loud.

alext (alext), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 07:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I fell asleep sitting at the back of a Stump gig in the Leadmill in Sheffield many years ago. Unfortunately, I was on top of a table at the time so it was quite noticeable and the lead singer stopped the gig, pointed at me and said something along the lines of "Hey, are you asleep there at the back?" and the entire crowd turned and stared at me.

Rob M (Rob M), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 08:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I've never fallen asleep at a gig myself (unconscious a few times, but that's different isn't it?) but a former girlfriend once fell asleep while sitting next to me in the front row at a Courtney Pine gig.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 08:59 (twenty-two years ago)

I do it far too often for comfort. Just nodding off standing up, not proper ZZZZZZZZZ. And only cos I drink too much.

DJ Mencap (DJ Mencap), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 09:33 (twenty-two years ago)

The Clapham Grand, around 1995. Myself and two friends were upstairs watching the Tindersticks. Decided to listen in the "House Of Lords" style (Ie, eyes closed, head lolling back). Next thing I know, there's three of us in a row, all asleep.

Persecution Smith, Wednesday, 22 October 2003 09:36 (twenty-two years ago)

My girlfriend (now wife) fainted at Reading festival, while Shonen Knife were on, on waking (she had my duffelcoat on), she wanted to know what were all these people doing in her bedroom...

(true)

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 09:37 (twenty-two years ago)

That's terrible Mark - I hope your wife's inconsiderate behaviour didn't make you misss any of Shonen Knife 'cos as I recall they were great!

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 09:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I fell asleep at a Shudder To Think show when I was 17. I also passed out at a Stereolab show when I was 19. I'd never fainted before and that's when I realized that I couldn't look at strobe lights.

cybele (cybele), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 09:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Back in the summer of '97, my friend Darryl, several of Darryl's co-workers, and I went to see Ted Nugent and a string of uninspired blues-leaning opening acts at the outdoor amphitheater in Pittsburgh. After several hours of uninspired blues, Nugent took the stage and did his usual inspired thing. The crowd responded pretty much as you would expect -- with one exception. When I looked to my left, I noticed that Darryl's co-worker Rob had dozed off. All I could think of was Nugent's "Double Live Gonzo" admonishment to people who came to his shows to be mellow. Fortunately, Nugent didn't see any of this -- I suspect that the arrow would have been shot out towards our part of the lawn.

John Fredland (jfredland), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 09:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Hi stewart, no they were just finishing their last number... Very considerate indeed!

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 10:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I fell asleep sitting at the back of a Stump gig in the Leadmill in Sheffield many years ago

Oh you hurt me in my very soul. To only have had to opportunity to see Stump!!! Shame on you!

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 11:10 (twenty-two years ago)

I (or rather my dance showgroup) did "Charlton Heston" as part of a 'Carribean Dance' show.

I still don't believe I got away with that...

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 11:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow. I can't even get my head around that image.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 11:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I must add myself to the roll call of people who've succumbed to Spiritualized's soporific effect. This was last year at the Hammersmith Apollo. The seats were comfy, the venue was warm, the instrumental wigouts were lengthy and I nodded out about halfway through.

Mog, Wednesday, 22 October 2003 12:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I fell asleep at Medeski Martin and Wood in Syracuse a couple of years ago. I wasn't even especially tired; it was just really boring. I curled up at the back and used my coat as a pillow.

Tom Breihan (Tom Breihan), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 12:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I slept through the last 30 minutes of a Bon Jovi concert on their Slippery When Wet tour. I was 9.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 13:24 (twenty-two years ago)

So that's Spiritualised 7, everyone else 5

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 13:29 (twenty-two years ago)

during the Escape from NYC tour (Debbie Harry, Jerry Jarrison, Tom Tom Club & Ramone) I fell asleep during the Ramones set.

it'd been a tough day and the Ramones set at same speed, same volume etc. functioned kinda like white noise.

H (Heruy), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 13:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Not exactly a show, but I fell asleep at Stomp! once.
I actually fall asleep a lot of "events" because I have shitty furniture, so whenever I go to a soft-seat auditorium I feel like I'm nestled in God's Armpit.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 13:45 (twenty-two years ago)

weezer, 2001

Haikunym (Haikunym), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 13:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Envious of me seeing Stump? Well.... I have to admit that it was a bit of a freaky evening all together, what with Edward Barton in support. For those with no knowledge of the legendary man, check out http://homepages.force9.net/king1/Barton/index.htm for some idea of the man's genius / lunacy. Those song titles! I'd been so impressed by the previous Saturday's gig (Luxuria) that I'd convinced two mates from college to attend with me for Stump and they never let me forget either Ed Barton, or me being humilated by the singer in Stump.

Rob M (Rob M), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, and there's an official Ed Barton site too, with two MP3s of the man's work!

http://www.edwardbarton.com/

Sorry to sort of take over the thread there.

Rob M (Rob M), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 14:13 (twenty-two years ago)

I fell asleep briefly (probably didn't miss more than one whole song) at Radiohead a couple of weeks ago, when they played in NYC.

Phil Freeman (Phil Freeman), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 14:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Okay, I know this is not the right day to be saying this, but I fell asleep at exactly one show in my life -- at the Beacon Theatre, I think, two or three years ago; there were chairs. My friend Sarah begged me to get on the guest list. And then, today, the singer died. I guess it was kinda okay when he sang that Blue Oyster Cult song.

chuck, Wednesday, 22 October 2003 16:59 (twenty-two years ago)

My FAVORITE falling asleep at a show story, though, is the one about how six people (including critic Enrique Lavin) supposedly "fainted" when Sigur Ros played (I think) Irving Plaza a couple years ago, because their music is so mysterious or whatever. That cracked me up.

chuck, Wednesday, 22 October 2003 17:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Fainted? Jesus H.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 17:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I fell asleep to Do Make Say Think as they openned up for GYBE. It wasn't their fault, I had been awake since Friday morning and had just come back from a trip to Halifax on Sunday. My mistake was to have a beer.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 17:42 (twenty-two years ago)

The Dead C. (sadly), during about 10-20 minutes of a 2 hour performance.

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 18:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Robert Rich, during a live broadcasted multi-hour sleep concert on KUCI. Well, it was the whole point, wasn't it?

donut bitch (donut), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 18:10 (twenty-two years ago)

standing up, for about 20 minutes, at a swervedriver show in college. (although i think i was somewhat narcoleptic during that period of my life, that's the only time i remember falling asleep on my feet.)

bijoux (bijoux), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 18:13 (twenty-two years ago)

I fell asleep during a Dire Straits concert and a Neil Young concert. Or passed out. one or the other.

scott seward, Wednesday, 22 October 2003 18:18 (twenty-two years ago)

i've fallen asleep at both Tool and GY!BE shows. tool b/c they were boring, gybe a combination of exhaustion and the hypnotizing music

Felcher (Felcher), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 19:57 (twenty-two years ago)

nobody faints because music is mysterious, Chuck, they do it because it's so fucking loud or overtonal or something. I know some of the people who fainted at that show, and I don't really see any humor in it.

M Matos (M Matos), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 20:21 (twenty-two years ago)

I fell asleep at a Jesus and Mary Chain gig once at the Arches in Glasgow. I had, in my defence, just finished taking two days hitching back from Glastonbury. But still, falling asleep at a JAMC gig?

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 20:30 (twenty-two years ago)

The humor in it, Michaelangelo, is that Sigur Ros shows seem like a perfect place to pass out, since they rank with the dullest bands on earth. (If it was loud overtonal music by Motorhead maybe it'd be funny too, but not for the same reason.) I dunno, when Enrique Lavin told me, I told him it seemed funny, and HE understood my point, so...

chuck, Wednesday, 22 October 2003 20:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Anyway, I'm not DENYING they fainted. (I've fainted a few times in my life, and it's no fun. Though on the other hand, it's generally pretty easy to recover from.) But when I heard the story, all I could imagine was all these Sigur Ros fans falling asleep! How is that NOT funny?

chuck, Wednesday, 22 October 2003 20:35 (twenty-two years ago)

2001: JJ72 at Bowery Ballroom. Mind you, I had a fever of 103, and I had to lean on the stage to keep upright.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 22:57 (twenty-two years ago)

you lot have me scared with the spiritualized talk! I have them scheduled for an interview in a couple weeks, will let you know if anyone falls asleep during.

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 23:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Would be surprised if they didn't.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 23:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Jason's actually a pretty quick talker, Teeny, don't fret.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 22 October 2003 23:42 (twenty-two years ago)

I fell asleep at a Morton Feldman concert once - I'd had a few beers beforehand and that is not a combination I'd recommend for wakefulness! I did wake up long enough to see one of the violinists in the string section stand up at the end of the concert and say to another violinist - "I've never been so bored in my life". Lip reading comes in handy sometimes.

Dadaismus (Dada), Thursday, 23 October 2003 09:02 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't sleep, but I yawn at **everything**. I've got so many dirty looks from jazz musicians when I'm nodding up and down, digging their music, and yawning my head off.

Dave M. (rotten03), Thursday, 23 October 2003 09:46 (twenty-two years ago)

i fell asleep at a lambchop show in a theater. i was loving it, but i had no sleep the night before, and the 'is a woman' repertoire didn't help...

joan vich (joan vich), Thursday, 23 October 2003 10:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Sigur Ros, supporting Godspeed, a few years ago - their first album, maybe? Left me all groggy during GYBE!'s set, for which I've never forgiven them. Rar. But the seats in the RFH send me to sleep by pavlovian means anyway. I've also fallen semi-asleep standing up to many a shite numetal support band, but I generally didn't know their names.

And this last Reading I spent every afternoon asleep in the back of the new bands tent, waking up every so often to think 'well, they're not much cop', but I'm not quite sure that counts.

cis (cis), Thursday, 23 October 2003 12:07 (twenty-two years ago)

"weezer, 2001"

-- Haikunym (zinogu...), October 22nd, 2003 12:00 AM.

Hang on, there's never
Seventeen syllables there!
I want a recount.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Thursday, 23 October 2003 12:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Yo La Tengo. I paid attention through Nuclear War (the set starter), promptly fell asleep after that, and woke up for the encore. it probably would've helped if I'd ever heard any of their songs before I went to see them.

Adrian (Adrian Langston), Thursday, 23 October 2003 12:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I fell asleep at a punk show during some anonymous band's set at a small club in Beaumont, TX called Fuzzgun. My friend's band was playing headlining and during the second or third band of the night I crawled into one of the booths and dozed off.

And this is kinda fuzzy, but I seem to remember nodding off during Television's ATP set in LA last year.

boldbury, Thursday, 23 October 2003 13:34 (twenty-two years ago)

My mate slept through the entirety of the Friday bill at ATP (the Mogwai-curated year) from High Llamas onwards. The only band he actively liked on the bill were the Super Furries and when he woke up he was heartbroken. Obviously we still laugh now.

DJ Mencap (DJ Mencap), Thursday, 23 October 2003 14:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Spectrum diddit

Ian Christe (Ian Christe), Thursday, 23 October 2003 14:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Age 10- Fell asleep at a big benefit arena show. I know missed seeing a Bon Jovi "unplugged" thing (just Jon & Richie) and a big jam.

Age 17-Fell asleep during the Scabs set at a big blues fest in a park in Austin. I had barely slept the night before, and with my blanket nestled under a big shade tree, I was gone within minutes.

Age 18-Fell asleep sitting under a tree at a big outdoor thing in Houston during some folk act's set.

Charles McCain (Charles McCain), Thursday, 23 October 2003 14:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Fell asleep during a Loop show in NYC, and Bugskull in Portland. (In the latter case, I'd been traveling for a few days and gotten maybe five hours' sleep the whole time, so I don't really blame them.)

mike a (mike a), Friday, 24 October 2003 09:31 (twenty-two years ago)

oh, stop making me all nostalgic... I remember catching my zzz's on top of the PA at CBGB's a lot (yes, during the set)...bands too numerous to count and no offense made to any of them. I was accused of narcolepsy at times. Living with G-rard, who apparently had to see EVERY band that came to town, and our having to work full time during the day didn't leave us much time to sleep. Apparently I liked to sleep. If I remember correctly I just started bringing pillows and blankets to the gigs after a while.

BurmaKitty (BurmaKitty), Saturday, 25 October 2003 14:00 (twenty-two years ago)

I THINK I fell asleep during a Charlemagne Palestine solo piano performance at the Purcell Room a few years ago, the music pretty much put me into a hypnotic trance and I was tired to start with. I remember zoning in and out of consciousness during the show then going home and sleeping like a baby.

udu wudu (udu wudu), Saturday, 25 October 2003 15:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Country and western concert in the 80s. (But I was one of the drones working back stage, since about 6:00am, so I was exhausted by the time 4:30 rolled around.)

Lord Custos Omicron (Lord Custos Omicron), Saturday, 25 October 2003 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

"For full disclosure, I should say that some, um, pre-show activities could have contributed to my falling asleep, so it's maybe not entirely Jason S's fault"

You fool! I warned you not to have a bath and some warm milk before you left!

Not me, although whenever I hear his voice on the radio I start nodding off due to extreme boredom (something I call 'The Radiohead Effect'), but a friend just went to see J. Mascis and fell asleep for the whole set.

Sasha (sgh), Monday, 27 October 2003 02:12 (twenty-two years ago)

nine months pass...
Aside from a not-so-hot local band (sorry Talulah, if you're out there) the only other show where I've fallen asleep was John Fahey at the Empty Bottle. This would usually not be an easy thing to do, but my friend and I scored seats on the stairs after a couple couldn't take it anymore. I can smile about it now, but at the time it was terrible...

frankE (frankE), Friday, 30 July 2004 05:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Me and a friend fell asleep on each other's shoulders during a CLEAN or maybe a DAVID KILGOUR gig once, I don't rememeber which cos I was ASLEEP. Annoying!

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 30 July 2004 05:07 (twenty-one years ago)

yes

I fell asleep at a Benbecula Records night, while Christ. was on.
No reflection on him - he was quite good really, although I've seen him better since - but I hadn't been to bed for about two days and I was knackered.

coco, Friday, 30 July 2004 08:18 (twenty-one years ago)

I've never fallen asleep at a show, but one time when i went see tool the show started really late and my brother was so damn tired that halfway into tool's set he dozed off and started to snore.

latebloomer (latebloomer), Friday, 30 July 2004 08:28 (twenty-one years ago)

i fell asleep while standing watching athlete, and before them, the support group, snow patrol in cambridge earlier this year. it was a first for me, as i had to actually go to the back of the venue in case i fell over.

thesplooge (thesplooge), Friday, 30 July 2004 09:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I fell asleep for ten minutes or so while watching Beck at Wembley Arena. It was a school night, what can I say? I also fell asleep at Club Suicide the other month. Tedious, wilfully obscure electrobollocks...zzzzzzz.

The best one was falling asleep during Mogwai's set at ATP in 2000. Started dozing peacefully during the quiet bits....jolted painfully awake during the REALLY FUCKING LOUD bits. I thought I was going to have a heart attack at one point.

Kate Jane Connolly (fixitgirl), Friday, 30 July 2004 10:20 (twenty-one years ago)

i also almost dozed of watching amp fiddler, at the jazz cafe. that was partly because it was after a few very late nights but he did nothing to keep me awake.

thesplooge (thesplooge), Friday, 30 July 2004 10:22 (twenty-one years ago)

friend of mine fell asleep on the drum riser after the Creep video was shot, I like to think it was an act of protest

Porkpie (porkpie), Friday, 30 July 2004 10:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Is yopur friend's name Phil Selway?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Friday, 30 July 2004 11:12 (twenty-one years ago)

at a roger waters show. I went there to hear something off Animals, which he did. I fell asleep during some of his newer material. i dont regret it.

AaronK (AaronK), Friday, 30 July 2004 11:44 (twenty-one years ago)

early 80s:
Fell asleep at a Pretenders show in Detroit. Went to interview the opener (The Alarm), and passed out in the front row for the headliners...mixture of tireness and bland-band syndrome. (I found out later that they were filming the concert for some early pay-channel, so I had fantasies about showing up snoring on HBO)

Also dozed off seeing the Dbs in Ann Arbor. Actually, both mice elf and my girlfriend did, thus at least 5% of their audience was asleep.

peepee (peepee), Friday, 30 July 2004 12:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Listening to their album again just now, I am reminded I fell asleep momentarily during Dead Meadow's set at ATP this year.

THIS SEEMS LIKE AN ENTIRELY APPROPRIAATE RESPONSE AND IN A GOOD WAY.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Friday, 30 July 2004 17:51 (twenty-one years ago)

well, a woman passed out beside me at a Low concert in toronto

emma cleveland (emma cleveland), Friday, 30 July 2004 17:56 (twenty-one years ago)

oh and i slept through part of neil young and medeski martin and wood too. i must hate music.

emma cleveland (emma cleveland), Friday, 30 July 2004 17:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I also fell asleep at the Spiritualized show Ned mentioned at the beginning of the thread. Thinking back, I also fell asleep at:

- Charalambides at Terrastock V
- Magic Hour
- B.G.K., Solution Mortal, and some other random punk band while waiting for Dead Kennedys to play
- Jackie-O Motherfucker at ATP

Elvis Telecom (Chris Barrus), Friday, 30 July 2004 18:18 (twenty-one years ago)

i bet charalambides was tight. but drone and repetition is natural to doze off to.

emma cleveland (emma cleveland), Friday, 30 July 2004 18:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Yep, k.d. lang in London, Ontario, 1994-ish. I'm not a fan but I've got nothing against her. I was visiting out-of-town friends who had a spare ticket. One of my few concerts with assigned seating - I wouldn't have slept standing up.

Myonga Von Bontee (Myonga Von Bontee), Friday, 30 July 2004 20:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I kept falling asleep watching the Josh Abrams quartet. I was pretty into it, but it was dark and there was no beer and it was finals week or something.

Sonny A. (Keiko), Friday, 30 July 2004 21:02 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah at a sun 0))))))) gig! thing is i was totally hyped up beforehand cos boris played too

prima fassy (mwah), Saturday, 31 July 2004 10:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Whwn I worked for the PA company, S.O.P. at dj gigs was to set up the PA, lock the covers over the limiters etc, and find somewhere quiet to sleep. Sometimes the DJs would get pissed! Like, "my god!! Am I that boring?" Y'know, no, I'm just here to work, not for phun, or anything. Other than that, no. If a gig was that boring, I'd go home.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Saturday, 31 July 2004 10:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Fallen asleep at a show I shouldn't've fallen asleep at?

Clarke B. (Clarke B.), Saturday, 31 July 2004 17:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Stars of the Lid -- it was an amazing experience, and falling asleep to their music (which for me is seemingly impossible not to do) is part of their appeal, both live and on record.

Clarke B. (Clarke B.), Saturday, 31 July 2004 17:33 (twenty-one years ago)

i DEFINITELY fell asleep at a sigur ros show.

and a spiritualized show.

cutty (mcutt), Saturday, 31 July 2004 21:04 (twenty-one years ago)

How did you fall asleep at a Magic Hour show?!? Wayne Rogers freakouts are among the more compelling things I've ever seen!
