AFAIK, this hasn't been done, so what gives?
I finally got around picking up one of his albums, 'The Dawn', and I would really dig it, if it weren't for the very weak rapping throughout the album.
I'm a bit fed up hearing breakbeats, esp. in a jazz context, but I'll probably try one of his other instrumental albums one of these days.

i have 'the mask' (the dawn?). it is a bit boring if i remember rightly. even i, the nu jazz nut that i was, was underwhelmed at the time. funnily enough there wasnt enough brekabeats for me when i bought it.

I don't like his actual playing (at all), but the rhythm section on The Mask is very good and there are a couple of great beats. It's not my favorite instance of jazz musicians using dn'b by far, but it has its moments.

I have one very underwhelming disc whose title escapes me at present.

And that's...my two cents!

two years pass...
I'm listening to the Giant Turtle thingy which oscillates between greatness and mediocrity. Fantastic live experience in any case.
I'm surprised there's so little discussion here.
