Great album for snowy days or rainy days. the perfect soundtrack for the land of the midnight sun. Classic I say.

Are they named after the Codeine album? If so does this give an accurate indication as to their sound?

It is indeed classic, as I've said before (and you have too, Chris, I believe in another thread, but yes they deserve their own thread)

Mencap: I've never heard Codeine but after a quick search, my gueass would be that it probably is an accurate indication. If that's indeed the case, I think they must've taken their name from said album.

gueass = guess, of course.

yes, pretty much like codeine. Very atmospheric...if thats the term. I wonder if they got the name from said album or if because they are from Norway and I'm assuming there are lots of birch trees there.

The "new" one's even better! In my last year's top10. Just listen to "Your Spain". And again. And..

Oh, I just came across it via the Rune Grammofon vinyl issue. I Didn't realise it had already been released.

one month passes...
I just picked the new one up. (Come Up For Air) Very nice indeed. It's a grower though. There are standout songs that grab you, and ones that evade you unti you realize they are just slowly sucking themselves into you every time.

I'll have to get the previous one.

'The Weight of Spring' remains an absolute masterpiece. These guys are criminally underrated. Nordic melancholy at its finest, unpronounced, subtle, yet gut-wrenching, tugging at the heart strings.
