i been hearing quite a bit of stuff out recently which i can only describe as reggae techno, its kind of somewhere between jeff mills and dave angel, but with a real reggae feel, no downbeat crap, this is warehouse party music, but kind of reggae in feel at same time

so what tracks fit this description?

alos, on amore ambient tangent, but still very reggae (well, dub) and very techno at the same time - anything by Higher Intelligence Agency.

ok i'll try and check some of these out. there are some very strange suggestions on this thread though (pole? dreadzone? wtf?)

charltonlido (gareth), Monday, 27 October 2003 07:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Pole has a definite dub side to his music, but calling it reggae would be a bit wrong, unless you count every music which has a "back kick" (what's the the English term for that?) reggae. Rhythm & Sound is more like "reggae techno", especially the tracks with Tikiman singing, but it's kinda downbeat even if it has the rigidness of techno. Burnt Friedmann & The Nu Dub Players' new LP has some genuine reggae vocals as well, but I fear it's too downtempo for you as well.

the 'Poor Man's Glory' track is at the end of this 'dope classics utd' mix btw

stevem (blueski), Monday, 27 October 2003 10:27 (twenty-two years ago)

i didnt catch the "no downbeat crap" (ugh) bit of the question thats why i recommended pole. theres no wtf? about THAT pole is reggae techno.

anyway i recommend the bug and stereotyp
