I am siding with Mr. Spocks Music From Outer Space because the sample from Pure Energy by Information Society was lifted from this record.

am going with shatner for his interpretation of tambourine man - pure xanax genius, really ... MR TAMBOURINE MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN ... this reminds of a comicbookstore conversation, though-who is going to burst open the pack of maji cards first?

If that's the only Leonard Nimoy album to choose from, I'll take Shatner's. But if you bring in "The Touch of Leonard Nimoy", I'd have to go with that. It's actually (don't laugh too hard here) a good album.

Charlie Rose (Charlie Rose), Sunday, 26 October 2003 01:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I would have thought the Brent Spiner album was a hoax if you hadn't supplied a link. Ol' Yellow Eyes Is Back...horrific title.

I've got to go with Shatner.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Sunday, 26 October 2003 01:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I own that Brent Spiner album, sigh. It's great when I want people to get the fuck out of my house.

Nick Mirov (nick), Sunday, 26 October 2003 02:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Shatner's album is like proto-Andy Kaufman (so it wins).

Mark (MarkR), Sunday, 26 October 2003 03:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Shatner is a bit "find other ppl to laugh at PLEASE" and the whole concept of the Spiner album is just horrifying, so Nimoy wins easily.

Justyn Dillingham (Justyn Dillingham), Sunday, 26 October 2003 05:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Shatner looks like the fifth Kraftwerk robot!

Leee (Leee), Sunday, 26 October 2003 06:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Brent Spiner's album wins hands down. If you get the chance, listen to "It's a sin (to tell a lie)". It even has a dramtic spoken word section performed by Patrick Stewart.

Adam Flybot, Sunday, 26 October 2003 16:58 (twenty-two years ago)

five months pass...
"It's a sin" is very close to the Ink Spots' original. The spoken word section is in the original.

Jonathan Frakes played trombone on Phish's Hoist.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Friday, 26 March 2004 00:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Shatner's next album features him covering Common People.
