Friend of mine is zealously trying to convince me to come up to this show from NYC. Trouble is, Ticketmaster sez they're sold out (this is the make-up show after Jack's finger injury caused many cancellations). Barring the option of standing around outside the venue lookin' for scalpers, any suggestions on how one might procure tix? Have you a ticket to this show you're looking to get rid of?

The show is indeed sold out, but I usually see people outside of Lupo's trying to unload tix before concerts.
I bought four tickets, but they're all taken for now. If anything changes, I'll be sure to let you know.

Possibly Brown U. or RISD has some kind of bulletin board system? Betcha AT LEAST a few students went and bought like 10 tickets each and hafta figure out what to do with them now.

if you're going to go to providence, don't do it for the white stripes, and don't go to lupo's. horrid venue.

Whattayatalkinabout? Lupo's rules!
But it may not be there much longer. The landlord has told his tenants who live across the street that the club is moving in November, although Rich Lupo denies this. (The club's show calendar extends only through Nov. 28, I've noticed.)
The landlord is attempting to evict Lupo, claiming he's violated the terms of his lease.
It's possible, although not probable, that the WS gig may never come off.

Lupo's has been through these kinds of rumors before and come out alive! The posts kind of block yr view but I remember it pretty fondly. The college kids are mainly pretty polite so it's easy to get down in front.
