Um, in what way is "A Life In The Day Of Andre Benjamin" chronologically reversed?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 27 October 2003 15:19 (twenty-two years ago)

i read it went backwards but i do hear it more as back and forth thru time actually i admit.

stevem (blueski), Monday, 27 October 2003 15:30 (twenty-two years ago)

?? I hear it as perfectly chronological

Baaderist (Fabfunk), Monday, 27 October 2003 15:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I always liked (okay, loved) the narrative of "Ms. Jackson".. The way they're both telling different parts of the story chronologically, but still trading off. I guess that's not entirely unique, but it's different because it's obviously a very personal topic, and it's really interesting the way you can trace the emotional development of the "character"

Sonny A. (Keiko), Monday, 27 October 2003 15:33 (twenty-two years ago)

thom west (thom w), Monday, 27 October 2003 16:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Totally!

(I've been really lazy on this thread. You know what I mean though booyah!)

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 27 October 2003 16:53 (twenty-two years ago)

it's a list thread! it's lazy by definition!

thom west (thom w), Monday, 27 October 2003 17:04 (twenty-two years ago)

there's that song on Stillmatic that does the "chronologically reversed" thing.

Al (sitcom), Monday, 27 October 2003 17:14 (twenty-two years ago)

"regulate" has a great, converging narrative form, as nate dogg finds and rescues his man warren g from the stick up kids. i really love the narrative structure on this song; surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet.

also, PE's "can I get a witness" is another court-scene type narrative dealy

gf, Monday, 27 October 2003 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

ghostface killah: maxine (all time classic narrative)
