This just came onto my (often switched off or spaced out) radar. What's the verdict?

I think it sounds fucking good.

yeah. pitchfork's reviewer claims this one's a lot better than the previous two. the band 'coming into their own' or some such.

I adore this album. Great songwriting, weird sounds. Happy music with bleak as hell lyrics. If they keep getting better, they're probably headed for indie rock superstardom.

+ Jenny Lewis is a stone cold fox, and has a freaking awesome style of guitar playing that comes as close to any woman has in approximating Thurston Moore's weirdness/control of feedback and fx
