Holy shit! Just got a spam email on this (CollideOscope or something like that). All google research shows it might just be FUCKING AWESOME. I can't wait to hear it.

Anybody?

Who knew you'd have cared? They're opening for King Crimson, by the way, at the Beacon Theatre here in NYC on Nov 15.

I'm definitely curious. The Yohimbe Brothers album with Vernon Reid from last year was pretty great.

I'm kinda scared, after reading so many praising reviews of it, that I'll be too much expecting too like it. But that Yohimbe Bros. record was indeed splendiferous; I figure if it's got even a wee tiny pinch of the magic manly pixie dust that album had, I'll like it. Plus they do "Back in Black" wtf?

Corey Glover has to go.

I'd rather hear the Black Jack Johnson album (if it ever comes out), it's got the all the good bits of LC (i.e. the rhythm section) without the wanky bits (i.e. Corey Glover and Vernon Reid, even though I like Vern, or at least the idea of him).

sorry nza, it's dud. Where did you read the positive reviews?

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 28 October 2003 20:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Like everywhere! WTF?

(I'm still gonna buy the damned thing. Damn my sense of commitment to artists I loved as a teenager!)

I haven't made up my mind about the whole thing, but there are definitely some grievous moments. My general impression so far is that it's one of those reunions where the guys get together and bang something out really quickly, desperately hoping it sounds "spontaneous", rather than just half-assed.

I re-bought Vivid when it was remastered/rereleased recently, though, and that one is still pretty splendid.
