Clem Snide: Classic or Dud?

I would lean toward classic, but I'm expecting a lot of dud responses.

I'll admit that the lyrics can be grating and overly cute, but the music wins out.

Whatcha think?

Classic. They need to put a live cd as they rock much more in concert. Not a bad cd in their catalog.

I love love love many of their songs, but I'm afraid they've been downhill from the start. Still, I've seen them live, and I'd go with classic especially for that.

i like "maybe i belong" and "everything ends" HEAPS but that's really all i know of them. there's nothing particularly special or interesting about their sound but the songwriting (on those two songs at least) is very strong.

oh shit i've confused them with howie beck. i r an idiot

"Sweet Mother Russia" is a perfect song that should be heard by everyone ("I Can't Stay Here Tonight" would be my second favorite song they wrote, also near perfection)

I've always kinda liked "Moment in the Sun," but not much else.

I haven't listened to them a ton, but I think Eef is a strong songwriter with a unique lyrical voice, overall. Def. a Randy Newman-ish bent going on in his later stuff.
