For instance, I have been getting heavy into indian food lately, and my friends are so used to riding with me to indian restaurants that my latest addition to my in-car schtick is singing the following to the tune of Green Velvet's "La La Land": "I'm going down....TOOOO.....MASALA LAND!"

Over to you, hulkamaniacs.

when I was down about my financial situation a few weeks ago, I took chanting to the tune of T.I.'s "24's": "money blows, I'm so broke, mom I wanna go home".

when my little sister was about 7 she used to sing R.Kelly's 'I believe I can Fly' as "I Believe I can Fart"

I've been having these abdominal pains for the last couple days that have been getting progressively worse and worse. It hurts to put pressure near the left side of where my small intestines are. Don't know what it is. Can't be a hernia; haven't done any heavy lifting. But they hurt extra bad when I laugh hard.

And you, sir, just hurt me extra bad.

Change Devo to "Working in the cold room" while organising boxes of bottles of beer into unboxed trays of bottles of beer.

The Spice Girls' "Say You'll Be There" is great for all kitchen endeavors, or for that matter any tasks, because it begins with "I'm" and then gives you a beat: "I'm/making a mango cake," "I'm/dusting the furniture," "I'm/scrubbing the toilet seat," etc.

Levitize?

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 16:30 (twenty-two years ago)

could be worse. could be "levicise" or possibly "leviticise." which both sound like new fitness crazes, actually.

my sister and i used to do this all the time. sometimes we still will, but i'll never forget all the X-Files xmas carols we rewrote. i was particularly fond of "Hark! It's Krycek's Retinal Burn!" all about Duane Berry and that stupid horrifying speedo we were subjected to....

I thought maybe it meant to revise the lyrics to fit in the Book of Leviticus, which is where a lot of Gay Bashers take their cue.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 17:35 (twenty-two years ago)

my father has been singing "sam and janet evening" (eg the knock knock joke punchline parody of "some enchanted evening") at odd moments for as long as i can remember.

it levitizes only occasionally now.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 17:43 (twenty-two years ago)

which is even more entertaining considering that "leviticise" sounds inherently smutty, really. like kegelcising, only very, very different.

janni (janni), Wednesday, 29 October 2003 17:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Well actually, "levitify" would have been clearer, but it sounded wrong. I usually use -ize when I make up words because it sounds more technological. I don't know where the Leviticus thing came from but you can make it a weekend project if you'd like Horace.

two months pass...
FUCK! I just realized what I missed out on!

In the summer I went swimming with some people, one of whom was a guy with an exceptionally long foreskin.

I could have bellowed to the tune of Basement Jaxx,

WHEEEEEEEERE'S
YOOOOUR
HEEEAD
AAAAAAAAAAT?

Where's your mum at?

Sasha (sgh), Tuesday, 30 December 2003 03:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I noticed on other threads Sasha that you're taking the 'evil' approach to things, but you need to be more evil.

Here, let me show you how it's done:

Where's your mum at?

At home, watching television! Yours?!
