Trespassers William - quite lovely stuff, isn't it?

So I heard their cover of Ride's "Vapour Trail" and was completely taken aback. Stunning. Downloaded "Lie In The Sound" last night, and it nearly brought me to tears it was so beautiful - and I don't get completely floored by new music that often these days (although I admit I am a sucker for stuff that sounds like Mazzy Star/Mojave 3).

So for those of you that have heard other stuff, what's the verdict? Have any of you west-coast US types seen them live? They recently got picked up by Bella Union here in the UK and they are re-releasing 'Different Stars' later this month. Yee-ha!

Sub-question: any other bands kicking around that sound like this? Labels worth checking out? (aside from Bella, Badman, 4AD, clairecords, which I'm down with)

Known about them for some time, hopefully they'll get more places than the Autumns. There are the usual clutch of bands that sound like this around here but I'd like to hear one that really cranked up the volume instead of just being drifty without apocalyptic noise (and the freakin' B**** R**** M********* C*** do NOT count).

Yeah, seems to be a lot of activity in non-LA California around this, especially San Fran. Isn't that where the Innocence Mission are from? Love them too. Badman Recording Co. has a lot of nice dreamy stuff...

Innocence Mission? They and the Ocean Blue were Pennsylvania folk.

I stand corrected! I think I assumed they were from SF because the last time I checked their website (a while back), most dates were around SF. Must have been Badman-related. Go Pennsylvania! Their song 'Lakes Of Canada' gives me goosebumps. And not just because I'm Canadian... ;) I like their new Christian-folk stuff too.

Ocean Blue. Yay.

i saw this band like six years ago in Berkeley; they were okay, very slick and polished first cd that made me think they were kids with money or children of studio owners. I was on their mailing list for years and then finally dropped off I guess, then was really surprised to hear about them again. At the time I thought they needed maturing in their sound, maybe six years has helped them? Haven't heard the new stuff.

Actually, I just realized what does irritate me about the band, that damned name. TWEE BASTARDS!
