Encountering High School Acquaintances Via Music

You haven't seen so and so for years, you remember them as being really meek, bookwormy, reticent, likable, physically disappointing, but then you catch their asses in the club, SUPER HIGH, with their bodies, once pale and hippy, carved down by dance and exuberance into an efficient network of sexual pistons dipped in edible bronze. I mean, what the hell do you say to them when they're yammering about the past two years in Europe and YOU'RE now the one with the chin acne? "Yeah word that's awesome. Uh, in the past few years, I have, uh, worked at Subway and sold sports equipment and made fun of Brent DiCrescenzo. You know him? Mmm." Just be glad you were nice to everyone back then, right?

Have beats made your past contemporaries totally delicious over the years too?

Also this kind of thing makes me rethink the old foolish pride my crew used to have about doing all the new dangerous things before everyone else did. When I think of the person I just talked about, I wish I'd tried to live a simpler, calmer, more lapidary teenage life, amassed good life skills first, and then started to find myself by being a gong show, instead of doing it all backwards. We had a "head start" on nothing but getting sketchy and jaded younger and trying to grasp basic life skills later.

I can believe that mr noise. Not everyone has known Brent D. It's a shame about his mysterious vanishing, and I KNOW he only owed me five dollars, but it was the PRINCIPLE of the thing!
