Have you heard it, do you like it, and have/will you be catching them if they stop in your town?

I want to know.

Yes, yes, and sure hope so.

Is it out already? I thought it was out next week... They're on Bella Union, right? Loved the last record - bought it at a show in Toronto when they opened for Trail of Dead...

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Thursday, 30 October 2003 10:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah, yes, the Trail of Dead show. Where I was more impressed with Explosions in the Sky than them, even though the singer of Trail ended up screaming at my feet. At Lee's, right?

peanut (peanut), Thursday, 30 October 2003 17:56 (twenty-two years ago)

and no, it's not out yet...

cant wait to hear it. im gonna see them this sunday. very excited. a quick question to those who have heard it:
Is there a song on it where the smashing guitars pick up for a split second, and in the silence feedback screams out, and then the smashing guitars come right back in?

Felcher (Felcher), Thursday, 30 October 2003 19:26 (twenty-two years ago)

ok, i got it and im loving it so far. i was planning on reviewing their upcoming show here, but im also thinking about interviewing the band now. anyone have any good question for them?

Felcher (Felcher), Thursday, 30 October 2003 20:29 (twenty-two years ago)

I'd ask about the album cover for Those Who Tell the Truth and the WTC attacks, but they might be sick of answering that question by now.

That Explosions/TOD show was at the Horseshoe, as I recall. And I also thought that EITS were FAR superior to the headliners.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 31 October 2003 10:21 (twenty-two years ago)

"they might be sick of answering that question by now."
yes they are, plus, i already asked them via email around a year ago

Felcher (Felcher), Friday, 31 October 2003 21:47 (twenty-two years ago)

What'd they say about it?

I'm trying to set up an interview too and I'm not really sure yet what I'd ask about. I don't know... I don't usually prepare questions first unless I know I'm only going to have a very short time with someone.

"What'd they say about it?"
they had said that it was pure coincidence, the artwork is all about some french battle and the angel is guiding the plane to heaven or something.
the show kicked major ass, as expected. i cant stress enough to anyone reading this, regardless of your taste or distaste for what everyone labels "post-rock", this band is much too exciting to fit under so boring a genre name. their shows are just awe-inspiring. the 2 times ive seen them theyve played their hearts out to embarrassingly small crowds. plus, theyre extremely friendly guys who are 100% dedicated to their music. if they come through your town, for god's sake, go see them.

I want to know.

Is this a Ulysses reference?

Leee (Leee), Monday, 3 November 2003 21:38 (twenty-two years ago)

i think it's an information society reference
