When you get this thing, all of the sudden every song you write sounds like that band from the bar in Star Wars.

Holy shit, that thing gives new meaning to the word "ridiculous"! I want one soooo bad.

"In addition, the AMD Opteron 64 processor utilizes HyperTransport technology to provide a scalable bandwidth interconnect between processors, I/O subsystems, and other chipsets including support of up to three coherent HyperTransport links, providing up to 19.2 GB/s peak bandwidth per processor."

is that like an entire QWERTY keyboard on that thing?

s1utsky (slutsky), Friday, 31 October 2003 22:08 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, it's apparently a dedicated pc cleverly mounted into a keyboard case, so you can do gigs w/softsynths & stuff.

Yeah, it only costs $7000, but they pack like $12K worth of goofiness into it, so if you buy it, it's like getting 5 grand of goofiness for free as a bonus.

geeta (geeta), Saturday, 1 November 2003 05:18 (twenty-two years ago)

geeta, I'm on it. (like that chick in the Beastie Boys song)

BTW I first heard about this crazy thang at

http://www.synthzone.com/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi?action=intro&BypassCookie=true

and from what I can tell, they don't throw down the science there nearly as often as they do here. I posted 2 things yesterday AND answered someone else's thread and no one has posted since. Slackers, I tell you what.

you ought to try this site helltime:

http://www.the-gas-station.com/messages.cfm?type=normal&thread_id=55225&lastdays=15&

plenty of talk goes on here, but unfortunately, plenty of http://www.vietgrove.com/images/hatorade.gif is drunk as you will see.

I've just moved over to VSTis & love it! You can get set up really cheaply & a lot of the soft synths & effects are free. I've been using Cubasis - a bargain at 50 quid with loads of free instruments! I've stuck some MP3s online at Boum, if anyone's interested. By the way, the site to visit is KVR-VST.

Cheers
