There's a riot....remastered???

I was snooping around amazon.uk and i saw a copy of Sly & the Family Stone's There's a Riot Going on. Ordered it thru my local indie US shop and picked it up the other day. Can't say for sure, but i think this one may be remastered, nothing dramatic, but definitely some moments where my head whipped towards the speaker at something new to my ear.

AMG says the regular US release (the one with the in concert shot for the cover)clocks in at 47:15, while this new one i have (with the orignal flag w/flowers cover) closes out at 47:38. Could anyone out there confirm that AMG got the right time on it??

Could it be that they went in and cleaned it up a bit and didn't tell anybody?!? That's some pretty lame PR!

If they're gonna start messing with Sly reissues, they should forget messing with re-mastering the classics and just get their shit together and put out "A Whole New Thing", which has never even been available on CD.

huh - way back in '95 apparently. I have it on vinyl but I've never seen a CD copy before. I wonder if that was part of the other reissues ("Dance to the Music", "Life", etc.) that had bonus tracks on 'em.

Great record, btw.

It is indeed one of those remasters Shakey...and yeah, great record, for "Underdog" alone...
