droool... mixtape vol2 was ace. not got unthugged yet .. (waiting for it to drop into the 2for20 pile, as 17 notes is rather a lot for me at the moment, along with Steinksi/Sugarhill mashup ..

I was just about to start a thread on this... absolutely brilliant, especially the first CD. Highlight for me is the Dangermouse Tom's Diner/ In Da Club boot. But all of it is supoib, it's better than the original "Unthugged", and its up there with his mixtapes. Definite top 10 album of the year contender.

(Also, ever get the feeling that its Greenpeace that's responsible for the more mainstream moments on the mix? I don't think that Eminem and Fiddy would get on a standard Yoda mix, to be honest)

he'd play them out and scratch em up live i think. i also need a proper full copy of this mix...

haha I was gonna start a thread on this too. i'm sure i've seen it around for less than 17 quid. fopp probably has it @ £15.

- the steinski/sugarhill one
- solid steel presents the herbaliser - herbal blend
- dj andy smith - the document II

ta to ILXOR i now have this mix .. was completely in the wrong section @ HMV spotted completely by accident .. and for a mere 14 notes i feel all cut-n-pasted up.
excellent fun stuff. though wish they had removed Pete Tong secion at the start ..
oh well, what with this and getting the full back cat of Run-DMC yesterday... a Good Week.

Yes, but without the intro section, the Pete Tong/Batman bit makes no sense. Could have done with them getting rid of the trailer for Layo and Bushwacka at the end.

And who is Magik Most and where can I find his entire back catalogue?

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Thursday, 6 November 2003 13:08 (twenty-one years ago)

so .. is the Unthugged mix (not the Essential one) a slim down version of this .. or is completely different ?
kinda like what UNKLE did with their Electric Beats triple cd set ..

mark e (mark e), Thursday, 6 November 2003 13:17 (twenty-one years ago)

unthugged is unrelated to these best I can tell - which HMV did you get it from?

Alan (Alan), Thursday, 6 November 2003 13:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Unthugged album is completely different to Unthugged the mix. They've both got that "Demigodz" track on, and a few of the samples are the same, but they are completely different. As far as I can make out, this (Essential Mix) album was originally a mix on Radio 1 in order to promote "Unthugged" (original) when it came out, which they later decided to release.

My god, that Beyonce version of "In Da Club" really is rubbish.

Pitman shouts out for Yoda on those linked One World extracts

Fopp in Covent Garden has it for £12. HMV on Oxford Street were selling it for £16.99. I got it home and realised it was exactly the same as what I'd downloaded two months ago for free. They didn't even take the Pete Tong voice overs off it.
