back from the gig, it wasn't too good actually. you could say that my tude wasn't to good to begin with, but this was most of all an aging rock star wobbling around bare-chested and starting to whip up a frenzy in a basketball arena in a suburban comunity on a wednesday evening. he played six or seven dp songs which is fine, i guess.
but it was much more appropriate this summer, when i saw him at an outdoor festival (roskilde), where everybody was drunk and loved-up and nostalgic, and the whole thing was much more in order there.
this was more like ... you could see how much these songs meant to people, because they've grown up on them, and it was kinda touching. it surely made the hairs in the back of my neck stand up. but it was a party for the past, choreographed by a rawk band that most of the time played in a very ugly stadium rock 80ies sound. ironic to hear synthpop evergreen 'just can't get enough' in a goddamn UNPLUGGED version!
heroin addict gone retrorocker. synth pioneer gone unplugged. rbele gone stale.
best track, though: 'black and blue again'.
