#1-11 are fucking flawless; #12-15 very good; 16-20 solid, 21-28 flawed, but there isn't a single one amongst them that I don't harbour at least some fondness for...of course, if we were to include the skits/intros, things would look a bit less wonderful.

Man, you guys were really really hard on Big Boi.

Church, the worst track!?

ddrake, Friday, 7 November 2003 02:19 (twenty-two years ago)

I think I like the Big Boi album better than the Andre one, actually! Tho both are grebt.

And "Church" wouldn't be my least fav track if Andre hadn't produced it I don't think. It's the combination of Big Boi's sincere advice and Andre's bubblegum production that doesn't really come together fer me.

Hmmm, quicker and easier than I thought it would be, though I bet these would change a bit in a month or two.

no one's including skits??

"god, come in god" is one of the best parts.

billstevejim, Friday, 7 November 2003 07:30 (twenty-two years ago)

"Ah, lady"!

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Friday, 7 November 2003 08:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I enjoy the skits and interludes on the Andre disc, but it's hard to rank them as songs, since they kind of operate on a different level. "A Day in the Life of Benjamin Andre" is a hard one to classify. Is it an interlude or a song? I decided it was more of an interlude, though I think the rapping on it is great.

I like "Church" more than is reflected in my list. After reconsidering, I think I would probably swap "Church" and "Flip Flop Rock". Am I the only one who finds this Jay-Z guest verse disappointing?

No, you're not, that little chorus spoils the rest of the song, which isn't that great anyway. I'm a bit perplexed by the lack of love for 'Pink & Blue', which is probably 6th or 7th in my ranking.

Baaderist (Fabfunk), Friday, 7 November 2003 15:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I like "Pink & Blue" too, but there's only so many spots near the top, y'know? Actually, I probably should have ranked it a bit higher - though I wouldn't put it in the top 10.

o. nate (onate), Friday, 7 November 2003 15:51 (twenty-two years ago)

"Pink and Blue" really doesn't start to take off for me until the strings are added. A decent song though - speaks for how good the album is since it's so far down my list.

Length and style are usually what separate interludes from songs for me. "A Life in a Day" is long and sounds pretty much like a normal song except without a chorus, so I'd call it a song. Andre's disc does have some good interludes though.

"The Way You Move" might as well be the next Marc Anthony single.
