I will have my answer up within the next day or two but I want to see what others come up with as well. Also, the "80 minutes" is just bait--I just think a single-disc Prince-outside-productions comp is an idea whose time has come (hello, Rhino!).

donut bitch (donut), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:37 (twenty-one years ago)

That little fucker produced "Endicott" huh? Wow. My first mix-tape ever kicked off with that (into Fishbone's "Land of the Freeze-Dried Godzilla Farts").

nickalicious (nickalicious), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh duh! "Sex Shooter" by Appollonia 6

donut bitch (donut), Friday, 7 November 2003 18:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought the 80 minute thing was like, sort of a shopping spree, like they were going to open up Paisley Park, sort of like Willy Wonka...I think I just thought up a winning screen-play idea! Hollywood here I come! So long sucker!

Truly two of my all-time favorite songs.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Saturday, 8 November 2003 03:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I ran to my LP shelves to confirm that Kid Creole claim before DB recanted!

Sean (Sean), Saturday, 8 November 2003 07:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Ok, since this thread seems to be in danger of falling off the page, I want to know what's on Matos' dream comp.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Saturday, 8 November 2003 19:05 (twenty-one years ago)

DB, the Kid Creole song Prince produced is "The Sex of It."

mine:
1. Sheila E.: "The Belle of St. Mark"
2. The Time: "Jungle Love"
3. The Bangles: "Manic Monday" [written, not produced, but I said that counts at the top]
4. Vanity 6: "Nasty Girl"
5. Chaka Khan: "I Feel 4 U"
6. Sheila E.: "A Love Bizarre"
7. The Time: "Wild and Loose"
8. The Time: "777-9311"
9. Sheila E.: "The Glamorous Life"
10. Apollonia 6: "Sex Shooter"

full or 12-inch versions of each (sorry this is so lame but I REALLY WANT Rhino to put out a Time comp as well as a Sheila E. and Vanity/Apollonia one)

M Matos (M Matos), Saturday, 8 November 2003 20:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Judging by Prince's demo for Manic Monday, all the Bangles did was rerecord the vocals (but still following Prince's guide vocal lines), everything else remains the same - whether Prince helped with the recording of the new vocals I don't know.

I just want the Family and the Jill Jones albums rereleased on CD with bonus tracks: 12 inches, bsides, outtakes, and the tracks to Jill Jones unreleased follow up album.

Jedmond (Jedmond), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 06:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Vanity 6 is one of those albums that will NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER be re-released. Unless she dies and her kids like funk more than God.

Mike Ouderkirk (Mike Ouderkirk), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 13:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Several of my favorites have already been mentioned, but here's a couple more:
Ingrid Chavez - Elephant Box
Carmen Electra - Everybody Get On Up
