What record/s would you love to erase from your memory in order to relive the joy of re-acquainting yourself with them? Tell the uninitiated so that they might benefit from your knowledge!

Spirit of Eden, In Sides, Up In Flames, 3ft High & Rising, Grace. These are all based purely on first-hearing (or, in the case of 3ft High... first re-hearing).

I let most of my favorites sneak up on me, so most of the big ones weren't as fun to discover as they were to listen to 1000 times when I really needed them. Most of the immediate answers that come to mind are my favorite singles from the past few years: "House Of Jealous Lovers", "I Do", "In Da Club", "Me and Giuliani etc". I don't want to hear old shit like it's new shit. The first time I heard Room on Fire it sounded different from all the other times I've listened to it. I'd like to hear it for the first time again, before it gets too old.

Interesting point. I guess this is more of an album question then, but I didn't intend it to be.

I was just thinking about where I was when I heard songs from some fave albums. I was driving with my best friend when we first heard The Kinks' "Picture Book". The line (and especially the delivery) "Pictures of your mama, taken by your papa," totally cracked us up. I also flipped out when I first heard The Young Fresh Fellows' cover of that song on college radio. I was driving when I first heard Wire's "Lowdown", and the "Drowning in the big swim, rising to the SUR-FACE," line grabbed me. I'd love to relive Deerhoof's "Reveille". That album enchanted me from the first note.
