I really wanted to hear "Que Vida!" by Love this morning, then discovered I don't have it anywhere. Que Lastima!

there's a dub version of a T La Rock song that I just can't find anywhere... I've lost my vinyl and I can't even remember which track it is. It sounds great pitched up.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 02:02 (twenty-two years ago)

this sounds pretty cheesy, but "more than words" by extreme... good song not a good band

Heidi (Heidi), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 02:09 (twenty-two years ago)

but kenan it's okay not own things (my whole music philosophy to thread!!!!)

Do you want those songs or don't you?

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 02:10 (twenty-two years ago)

all the aimee mann stuff. my ex girlfriend took it (rightfully, i gave her most of the records as presents) when i left her, and that's probably for the better, 'cause everytime i hear these songs now i feel really sad and sorry for her. and i feel black and empty inside. it was a terrible break-up and we don't even speak today even though we were together for almost four years. you're not supposed to feel sorry for me or anything, as i was the one who left (and i have a new girlfriend now whom i love like an idiot), but i feels kinda good to be able to post that sort of stuff here. sorry if this intimidated anyone :o)

Jay Kid (Jay K), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 02:10 (twenty-two years ago)

the not owning of the song(s) make them even more special when one hears them, though not my philosophy mostly.

jack cole (jackcole), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 02:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Vitalic, Poney part whatever

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 02:44 (twenty-two years ago)

downloading has kinda killed this idea and getting all the stuff you wanted seems like a loss at some level.

jed (jed_e_3), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 02:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't have internet at the house otherwise I would so have already created How Do I Hate You, Let Me Count The Ways: The Very Best Of Linkin Park

Whyte Boots- "Nightmare"

Carey (Carey), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 02:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't have a hard copy of "Never Buy Texas from a Cowboy" and the mp3 I have has a distracting vinyl buzz going on in the background and it still manages to be one of my most oft listened to songs right now.

Eric H. (Eric H.), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 02:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Sex and Candy by Marcy Playground (but I just downloaded it)

Shaun (shaun), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 03:33 (twenty-two years ago)

oh yeah and the techno remixes of "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" - saw a white label boot of it but couldn't justify spending $11, when I know I'll absolutely hate that song in a month

roger adultery (roger adultery), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 03:39 (twenty-two years ago)

phil-two (phil-two), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 06:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Want to buy my copy of 77? Email if interested.

To answer the thread, probably either "Fly At Night" by Chilliwack or "Innocence" by Harlequin. I don't have a high-speed connection at home.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 07:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I remembered another, one that only a lyrical fragment of which keeps occurring in my memory, but the overall ambience i can summon in full, and that's "ballerina out of control" by ocean blue. Somehow i feel stumbling somewhere across that on vinyl is out of the question.
Also: anything off london calling, which i lost in a move years ago, but most especially "hateful" and whatever the phil spectorish one on side 4 is called. And "hitsville uk" from sandinista! which i've never owned.

Dr. Annabel Lies (Michael Kelly), Tuesday, 11 November 2003 10:16 (twenty-two years ago)

? and the Mysterians - "96 Tears"

John Fredland (jfredland), Thursday, 13 November 2003 08:59 (twenty-two years ago)

the 'guitar' mix of "Sueno Latino" - it has this insane 80's spanish inflected electric guitar solo smack dab in the middle of it - perhaps Gottsching himself?

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 13 November 2003 09:00 (twenty-two years ago)

the demo of The Jesus & Mary Chain's "Happy When It Rains" from the 10" single.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Thursday, 13 November 2003 09:01 (twenty-two years ago)

A long time ago, a friend played me an album called something like "Octofetus" which was a rock opera by some dumb little band about a guy with 8 personalities. There was a wonderful song on it, at the point where he comes to terms with his situation, called "Me and me and me and me and me and me and me and me (we get along)." I wish I had a copy. It was really irritating.

dlp9001, Thursday, 13 November 2003 18:48 (twenty-two years ago)

"Nasty...Nice," the b-side of "Yankee Wheels,' by Jane Aire & the Belvederes. Sure I have my 45, but I have not been able to find an mp3. I guess I could make one myself, but I'm not good at this.

Fruitless and Pansy Free (Dr. Joseph A. Ofalt), Friday, 22 January 2010 01:43 (sixteen years ago)
