also, Benzino was wearing a jersey with the names of O.J. Simpson, R. Kelly, Kobe Bryant and Mike Tyson on it, which really confused me. is he condemning their crimes, or standing up for black men being hassled by the law, or promoting solidarity against (among?) accused rapists, murderers and pedophiles?

Chris Brown was not, and he was on numerous times. I still like Busta Rhymes.

explain me this pleeze:
"Brown's triumph was mitigated by some rather extreme awkwardness. When the Viewer's Choice award was given out, it was accidentally presented to the singer's ex-girlfriend Rihanna and Drake accepted on her behalf. Later in the show, it was revealed that Brown was the actual winner."

oh BETpaws:
"Other winners of the night included Kanye West and Nicki Minaj for Best Male and Female Hip-Hop Artist respectively, Rihanna for Female R&B Artist, a tie between siblings Willow and Jaden Smith for Young Star and Michael Vick, who recently returned to football following a 19-month stay in federal prison for his involvement in a dog-fighting ring, for Best Sportsman."

the Diplomats performance was the greatest thing ever televised. it was preceded by a bizarre pre-taped segment featuring Cam'ron wearing pink and eating chips in a convenience store, and the clerk behind the counter throwing a big fake 1930's-gangster-looking tommy gun to Cam, which he held during the performance.

HABIBI GOT IT!
also, holy shit, that viewers choice mix up was really fantastically awkward. apparently the card said chris brown but the teleprompter said rihanna and the random fan who was up on stage presenting it just ended up saying one then the other then making this terrific face and then all of a sudden drake was on stage. it was really bizarre.

In more mundane parts of the show there was Ceelo and his hairspraying routine as part of the Labelle tribute
