. . . can anyone convince me the live portion of Death to the Pixies doesn't totally blow? I hear recording ineptitude seemingly on par with the hamfisted knob-twiddlinr on Metallic KO. Tinny, overbrite sibilence. Not good. A decent performance, I suppose, but can anyone sit through this? In its entirety? And who was on the selection committee? Was nobody else recording their shows?

How weird. 've owned the 10" box set of this since the week of release, and it's just occurred to me that i don't think i've ever heard the live thing! Is it really so awful? Ah well.

I have a bootleg of the WXRT/Cab Metro show that I listen to all the time. I think I listened to the "Death to.." disc once, when I bought it.. Pales next to the bootleg ...

Death To The Pixies was bought for me as a present some years back. The front cover clearly states it has the limited edition live disc, but it's not there - it came in a 1-CD box even. This pissed me off until I was reliably informed by someone who is seldom wrong that said limited edition disc was crap.

The Metro show is resplendent. One of the finest concerts I ever had the privilege to attend. That's why I was shocked Frank/Francis/Charles would allow something like this to be part of an official release.

Keep it for the packaging.
