Shoot me. Shoot me now. So that was what the flyer that was being passed around at Chris & Cosey was about.

Is there a single documented second of TG's existence which hasn't been reissued on a box set somewhere?

Citizen Kate (kate), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 14:12 (twenty-one years ago)

the oundle public school show! i'd like to hear that one. and the kezar one too. film footage would be kewler than audio tho

"Is there a single documented second of TG's existence which hasn't been reissued on a box set somewhere?"

Probably not, but these things *are* put out on a supply and demand basis. I doubt its existence is going to be too obtrusive over the next few months. Personally, the only bit of that I find interesting is the "branded object". Does anyone have any funny or true ideas what it might be?

DJ Mencap (DJ Mencap), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 14:55 (twenty-one years ago)

(little known factoid, HSA did the graphic design/cover art for one of the TG box sets, but I can't remember which one.)

the oundle school video is hilarious - genesis singing 'something came over me' to all these teenage boys. anyone kno how that gig came about?

stirmonster, Wednesday, 12 November 2003 14:59 (twenty-one years ago)

But Genesis P-Orridge doesn't exist any more! He's been subsumed into a composite being of indeterminate gender!

Colin Meeder (Mert), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 15:38 (twenty-one years ago)

from what i understand, the band booked a lot of their own gigs at random auditoriums 'n stuff, and i believe there was some mad schoolboy TG fan at this public school who organized the gig. can someone hook me up with this footage? where'd you find it, stirmonster?

geeta (geeta), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 16:48 (twenty-one years ago)

geeta - to second stirmonster: I've seen this (or another gig like it, if there was one) - it is OTT!!! imagine schoolboy jaws dropping as TG perform "Something Came Over Me"

Paul (scifisoul), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 17:27 (twenty-one years ago)

a video of this was released/available in early 90's

Paul (scifisoul), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 17:29 (twenty-one years ago)

like paul says, it was officially released. i bought a bootleg copy around '87 that combined the oundle school gig with the 'heathen earth' recording sessions film.

Going to the photo gallery... the Gristle are looking GREAT today. They've aged quite well! Chris Carter will always look at least younger than his late 20s. Cosey has that Dawn French on AbFab thing going on. Sleazy's stylin it with the stripe, and Dahling, Genesis, he's almost as GAHjuz as Liza!

donut bitch (donut), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 18:04 (twenty-one years ago)

The Oundle School video, shot on a single camera near the stage, came out originally on...geez--Target? Doublevision? in late 70's, early '80's.
The Los Angeles show was released two years ago on Tesco(not the best recording, but a good performance), and the SF show has been available as "Mission Of Lost Souls"--an excerpt of "Discipline" from either the L.A. or S.F show was included on that Grey Area video compilation relesed by Mute around '90-'91. Gen gets sloppy with some skinhead in the audience. Someone somewhere must have video of that show, but I haven't heard of any legit or bootleg releases...?

Stephen Boyle (SBoyle), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 18:28 (twenty-one years ago)

that "Discipline" excerpt = among most powerful concert footage I've ever seen

Paul (scifisoul), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 20:01 (twenty-one years ago)

four months pass...
Ha ha, I heard some very funny gossip about this last night, but I've already been told off on ILM once this month...

Psycho Kate (kate), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:59 (twenty-one years ago)

No, you haven't. I was just kidding...

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 14:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Huh? It wasn't you that I was referring to as telling me off. I was told off by the person I was gossiping about!

So are any ILMers going to go to the festival, cause it looks like we might actually be going after all. Maybe.

Psycho Kate (kate), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 14:06 (twenty-one years ago)

(I knew, I was just trying to say "Oh go onnnnnn" in a less obv manner...)

Hey, have a good one (or two)

mark grout (mark grout), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 14:08 (twenty-one years ago)

kate let's hear it I am stressed out v. v. hard and music gossip is the thing that will calm my nerves

J0hn Darn1elle (J0hn Darn1elle), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 14:17 (twenty-one years ago)

(OK, just for you, John... apparently, Gen has had some kind of cosmetic surgery on his lips (as part of his gender realignment? I don't actually know, didn't hear that bit) and can no longer sing, so they had to erm, digitally manipulate his voice in the studio.)

You Didn't Hear This From Me (kate), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 14:25 (twenty-one years ago)

ms. boom you just restored light & life to my dreary busy morning, you rule

J0hn Darn1elle (J0hn Darn1elle), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 14:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, I'm glad that it brought as much joy to your morning as it did to me last night. I just hope that it doesn't get back to him, as aparently they didn't tell him!

Psycho Kate (kate), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 14:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Hahahaha, Kate that has made my day!

Ricardo (RickyT), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 14:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Anyway... back to the question... is anyone here actually going, or was that on another thread? Too many TG threads to skim them all so I just picked on Chuck. As usual.

Psycho Kate (kate), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 15:29 (twenty-one years ago)

one year passes...
I saw the TG24 Box today at a "reduced price" and was mightily tempted....but, do I really need that much TG? Does anyone?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 22 April 2005 21:06 (twenty years ago)

u needed it.
u get a patch.

The Sensational Sulk (sexyDancer), Friday, 22 April 2005 21:23 (twenty years ago)

Hahaha....well, then...that settles it!
