Does anyone know what the exact setup he uses is? I am mostly interested in the exact strings / tunings he has on his guitar, if anyone knows this information.

Dean Gulberry (deangulberry), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 19:59 (twenty-two years ago)

insert "in the key of bee" joke here

vahid (vahid), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 20:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I think he generally only plays with three strings on it, and from what I understand he runs different signals from his pedals to different amps.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 20:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh but I'm pretty sure he actually plays in standard tuning though.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 20:07 (twenty-two years ago)

i thought he had strings from a non-bass guitar on there as well?

Dean Gulberry (deangulberry), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 20:10 (twenty-two years ago)

he has an octave pedal

gygax! (gygax!), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 20:24 (twenty-two years ago)

He also uses a whammy pedal on the higher end signal, that I know for sure.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 20:32 (twenty-two years ago)

there's lots of fuzz somewhere in that equation, and a dash of divinity

Felcher (Felcher), Wednesday, 12 November 2003 20:46 (twenty-two years ago)

He uses a high-gauge (I'd guess a .010 or so) guitar string where the G string would normally go. I think the others are standardly tuned bass strings.

fozzy bear, Thursday, 13 November 2003 00:18 (twenty-two years ago)

two octave pedals, actually. and distortion. not sure what else. he plays with bass string only. top three. i'm pretty sure they're in standard tuning. and amps are mostly cobbled together i'm sure.

Jon Williams (ex machina), Friday, 16 January 2004 23:01 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, but i think it stills has only three strings. i'm not altogether sure, though. i haven't been able to see anything at a lightning bolt show in a long time. too scrawny and weak for these strong new yorkers.

Ian Johnson (orion), Friday, 16 January 2004 23:04 (twenty-two years ago)

ps the best env filter ive heard in a while is the purple line 6 pedal "fm filter modeler" has about 4 diff env filter settings and like 10 more vintage pedals including the famous "seeker" sound everyone seems to be using these days. you can get em for under 100 now on ebay im pretty sure. fuck it get all the line 6 pedals they rool.
