I don't see Bounce's point here. I mean, "The Power", "Rhythm Is a Dancer" and "Rame" sound considerably more different from each other than "Pump Up The Jam", "Get Up (Before The Night Is Over)" and "This Beat Is Technotronic".

But, then again, I was 19 at the time, and I had already decided, with all the crap on the single lists, I didn't like current pop anymore.

I still consider 87-90 one of the worst eras for music ever.
